What grade do you give?

Post#1 » by 4ho5ive » Fri Mar 14, 2008 6:01 am

Due to Bobcats coach recently giving himself a "C" as HC this season, what grade would you give HC Randy Wittman thus far into the season? What grade did you expect coming into the season and do you think he will be better/worse down the line?

Feel free to give player grades as well.

Anyone who voted "Better than I expected" ought to go and pull up the threads with our expectations from this summer. Wolves aren't even close.

Wins were never the yardstick for this season -- developing the youth was. Has that been accomplished? I'd give him mixed grades on that, so I said "C"

Good poll question 4ho5ive

I think if he were getting more out f McCants I might have given him a better grade. That said, I like how he holds the players accountable.

I gave him a "C" as well.

I gave him a "C". On the plus side, I think he developed the Wolves young players without just "throwing them to the wolves", no pun intended. On the minus side, his fourth quarter game management was "deer in the headlights". The Wolves were out-coached by everybody when the game was on the line in the 4th quarter. We need a veteran coach in order to teach our young players how to win games at the end. I don't think Wittman is that coach.

Agreed. Many of those games fall on the coaching staff's shoulders.

I voted B, I was goin to vote C because I didnt expect all that much and the season was just OK. With all the injuries and new players the team put up many games with 3.5 solid quarters of entertaining basketball. I enjoyed the games more this season than the last few years, but I would have still like to have seen the wolves get bigger upfront during the season to make the games more enjoyable.

I gave him a C, though I think he's around a C+/B-. As deeney0 pointed out, the win total is less than I expected. However, I didn't expect Foye to be injured for half the season. They haven't been winning but he has had them playing competitively (for the most part) throughout the season.

This is a tough grade, given the definitions posted. He's exceeded my expectations, but my expectations were in the gutter.
