I know its becoming common for young people to simply namecall those they disagree with, but I find the term they both used, "retards" especially offensive. People with mental or developmental disabilities shouldn't be used as some perjorative epithet. I would like to see this term (as well as terms surrounding "rape") left off the board.

Surely people can make their point without such crude language.

I'm saying that Taylor may not have been saying KG made the decision, just that missing KG was the reason that the players may not have had the same pep in their step. In that case, it doesn't actually make KG look better, it makes Taylor look better since he didn't completely throw KG under the bus. It also makes those that have been defending Taylor by making a case that KG did in fact tank look even more foolish because they've gone out of their way to defend a point that wasn't even made.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

I hadn't. I truly appreciate you letting me know.

Taylor paid KG, yes. But you've yet to establish any good reason for Taylor to want KG to play so bad. Why would Taylor care?

Yes, because I call everybody who disagrees with me about anything a (Please Use More Appropriate Word). The reaction of people to KG's comments at that press conference were absolutely ridiculous. Calling them retards is going easy on them.

And I just have to point out the hypocrisy of you calling me names while complaining about me calling people names.

I have to agree here. Everyone got really, REALLY sensitive about this and him celebrating a close win on his new-home court. I was amazed how many people loved his intensity while he was here, but were so hurt once the shoe was on the other foot.

3. I laugh at people that look at a guy that plunks down $100 mil a year on an NBA team, and say, "he didn't save basketball." If not .. YOU come up with the $100 mil! MIN fans understand from Carl Pohlad that a professional sports franchise is not a god-given right. You need an owner who's willing to put his own money out there, run the risk of financial problems and constant public criticism from a bunch of uneducated yahoos that have only an inkling of how a big business is run, but think they know how to do everything better.

I laugh at people who toss out strawmen and are so proud of themselves for doing so.

Surely you can make a point without utilizing fallacies like strawmen and broad generalizations...or is it possible that there is not a point to be made?

An NBA official said last night the league called Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and chastised him for recent comments about Kevin Garnett. Taylor, however, was not fined. Speaking to Minneapolis reporters Tuesday, Taylor said Garnett "tanked it" the last five games of the 2006-07 season while his teammates "still wanted to play." Taylor's comments came after he was asked about his franchise having a reputation for tanking games in recent seasons to aid its draft position. Garnett missed the last five games of last season with a sore right quadriceps. -- Boston Globe

I can understand people getting upset over the jersey thing. He wasn't wrong for doing it but seeing something like that can hurt. This thing though is just stupid.
