Will Gomes Be Back?

Post#1 » by Stephen_Litel » Thu Apr 3, 2008 5:07 pm

Hi everyone,

Thought you'd be interested in my chat with Gomes from Tuesday...

Should he be safe?

I like Gomes and think he is a guy we would be safe to spend some money on. If we don't draft a 3-4 in the draft I'd say he has a 100% chance of returning to this team.

You'd hope so. He's such a class act.

As long as he isn't given a stupid deal , bringing Gomes back is a no lose situation. He plays well and if in a year or so you have better options at his position then he will be tradeable.

Just don't pay him too much for too long.

I'd really love to keep Gomes. And I really think giving him a MLE-sized deal would be a mistake.

I'd agree because he is going to be a bench guy in the future something around $12-13m over 3 years would be my offer for him.

I agree that I'd love to have him back as long as we don't overpay for him. He's a good player and a good teammate.

I'd think that would be a pretty fair deal.
