How plausible is this?:
McHale, Taylor, Hoiberg, and a lot of other decision-makers come out of a locked conference room. McHale says:
"So its decided then? No matter what happens, draft camps, work-outs, whatever, we're going to lock into picking Derrick Rose over Beasley. Well, I'm glad that's decided. The only thing left to do is to decide who calls Shooter, to tell the league. Fred, I think I'm making that one of your duties .. I'm going to go work on my boat."

I wasn't buying it until you mentioned McHale was going to work on his boat. I'm sold. That's exactly what happened. That last sentence is enough proof, when it comes to good ole uncle Kevin.

Anything from Charley Walters is not worth mentioning.
My Kobe Bryant website I designed myself: http://personal.stthomas.edu/dnnguyen/kb24.

True. His "birdies" aren't tips, their just things he think would or should happen.
His one liners are basically the same as questions presented at the bottom of a cable news channel, i.e. America isn't ready for a black/woamn president? Just Charley leaves the question mark off.
Basically, what Charley is saying is:
Wolves wil pick Rose if they get the first pick?

I don't really understand why. I think it's been a case of "what have you done for me lately".
Granted, Rose had some amazing games during the tourney, but Beasley has been equally as amazing all year long. He was consistant. He is rediculously efficient.
Are we forgetting Beasley led the nation in rebounding? How about that he was 3rd in scoring?
Are we forgetting that Beasley was doing this not only against lowly teams, but also against higher echelon teams? In fact, Beasley put up incredible performances against Kansas, the team that won the national title.
Game 1 against Kansas: 25 pts, 6 rebs, on 50% shooting.
Game 2 against Kansas: 39 pts, 11 rebs, 3blks, on 48% shooting AND he got to the line 16

This is not a knock against Rose. He is a freak of a player, but for him to all of a sudden be the hands down pick over Beasley is crazy to me.

We aren't necessarily talking only about individual success. More about team success.
2007 - Corey Brewer (Back to Back Championships)
2007 - Chris Richard (Back to Back Championships)
2006 - Randy Foye (Elite Eight)
2006 - Craig Smith (Sweet Sixteen)
2005 - Rashad McCants (NCAA Championship)
In the past 3 years, the only draftee to not fit the bill was Bracey Wright.

I think Rose is the guy if we get the pick and keep it. Foye can go back to 2 and the 1 and Shad can be the 6th man. Add a vet who is cool with 10min nights and DNP-s and we have a good situation there. Rose and Beasley are similar in terms of talent and hype and Rose fits much better than Beasley here.
