Do you do this trade?
Randy Foye
Antoine Walker
Marko Jaric
Greg Buckner
#1 pick this year (if we land outside the top 2)
to GS for
Baron Davis
Andris Biedrins (S&T)
What if we had to include the Boston pick or the Miami pick or both?
I know most would say that no one wants Walker or Jaric, but they both would fit pretty well in GS, I think, and Walker will be an expiring... There's been a lot of talk about Davis being moved by Golden State. I wouldn't mind a lineup of :
1 - Davis/Telfair
2 - Snyder/McCants
3 - Gomes/Brewer
4 - Jefferson/Smith
5 - Biedrins/Madsen
and we'd still have two #2's to do some fishing this year...
Thoughts?

I think that's a great deal for us. Biedrins for a non-Top 2 pick seems like a good deal, and Baron for Jaric and $13 mil in expirings is a winner for us too.
I wouldn't expect a lot out of Baron Davis though. He wants to go someplace where he can get a long extension, and he's already making almost $18 mil next year. We've seen his attitude problems when he doesn't like where he is, as he forced his way out of New Orleans insulting his team and the fans, and seemed to always have some kind of injury. This might work better as a three-way where Baron is sent to a contending team with some cash.
I think though that GSW would turn the deal down, probably even with the 2009 picks. They love Biedrins. (Remember the group of GSW fans that said they wouldn't put him in a deal for KG? I wonder what they think now that they might miss the play-offs?) I also have found many of the Baron trades made by GSW fans on the trade boards greatly over-estimate his trade value. Its no knock on Davis -- he's been spectacular this season. However, with a price tag putting him in the Top 10 next season, and his history of injury and attitude problems, I don't know how many teams would be willing to offer him the huge deal he expects.

Well, you're pretty much right on the money, Shrink and Krapinsky.
The response when I offered them Foye, this year's #1 (outside the top 2), Jaric, $13 million in expirings, and potentially 2 future #1 picks in exchange for Davis (an oft-injured superstar looking for a mega-contract) and Biedrins (a 6-11 C averaging 10/9/1/1) was...
You can eat my poo.
Fun.

Baron can be injury prone. I'd rather take my chances with Mayo.

He is known for being gimpy and he would would demand MAX money as a 30 year old.
If you are going to trade one of the top picks you are supposed to get back a legit allstar player. Davis as good as he is isn't a legit allstar player.
I also think that GS would never do the deal....
