I'm with Casey... this thread is dopey. You guys do realize that Redd, playing with no low post presence, has averaged 25, 23, 26, and 23 ppg the last four years? Averaged 39% from 3 for his career? He'd be a terrific fit on this young team, doesn't turn 29 until the end of August. The Bucks would be idiots to let him go for expirings and a middling prospect like McCants.

For the nuclear reactive/don't touch them with a ten foot pole list: how about Mark Blount? Or is that redundant? Vince Carter can go on the list twice.

Of the players on the overpriced list Carter or Davis would be the ones worth going after. They are both leaps and bounds better than Redd. They would also be the hardest to get. I don't see how we could get Davis. Can't he opt out this summer? If he didn't and we traded for him he could just leave the next offseason. Carter is locked into a deal for a quite a few years. In some ways that is good for a small market team, but it is also a lot of money to spend on a player that is known to not give 100% at times.

Wow, you're comparing Redd to Curry (I assume this is a big negative) then advocate the Wolves getting chronic pouter Vince Carter and the injury-prone Baron Davis, who also happened to pout his way off his last team?

I'm not sure there's a guy in the league I'd want here less than Vince Carter.

If a team is going to be willing to take on Redd's salary, I think they'll find he goes for a lot less in trade value than some would expect. The Bucks fans on these boards are some of the most prolific and informed posters at RealGM, and they are almost unanimous that Redd has to go. I haven't watched him enough to know if he'd fit in here, but I will say that it wouldn't cost trade components we'd be crying over .. my guess would be as little as Walker, Jaric, McCants, MIA pick.

Yeah it is a huge negative comparing him to Curry. Neither play any defense and cannot do anything very well besides score. Carter (and more so Davis) would be helpful running the offense if Foye is going to be the long term pg.
If you looked at the other posts I mentioned that Carter is known for not giving 100%. When he is loafing he is still better than Redd. Well probably about even since then he doesn't pass, rebound, or play d. Just like Redd.

Who cares that Davis and Carter pouted their way off teams years ago? Kidd did it. Kobe tried to do it. Didn't Kobe also refuse to play for the Hornets (the team Baron left) when he was drafted by them? Davis was out of shape for a number of years causing him to be injury prone. He has played ever game this season.

*There is a Davis for Redd/CV trade on the Bucks board.

So you think it couldnt happen again if they were traded to a team like MN and they didnt like it here?

A rebuilding team trading for a player with a huge contract is a big risk. Them being unhappy is just an added risk. I can't say for sure they would be happy here or not (none of us can). We could always trade the player if he starts bringing the team down. It is not like their value would be that far off from what we would trade for them now (contracts will be shorter). Even if Carter/Davis was unhappy they would still be a better player than Redd. They would still stand around and shoot (like Redd). But they would put more fans in the seats. Anyways I am not saying that the Wolves should trade for Carter/Davis. I am just saying that if it came down to either of them or Redd it is an easy choice.

I dont think its a no-brainer either way (Redd or Carter). If we were trading for one of them I think you'd find plenty of people on both sides of the fence as far as which one to take.
