It's not really up to the Bobcats. Well, it is kinda, but it's more up to Okafor. He's the free agent, he decides where he wants to go.

Yeah I know they can't just trade him to whatever team they want. Okafor would have to agree. But if he just tries to sign with another team can't the Bobcats match any offer sheet that he signs?

I didn't know he was restricted. Yes, that gives the Bobcats more power.

Or he could just sign a one year deal with the Bobcats and enter the 2009 FA free-for-all as an UFA.

what about Chris Wilcox and Sene for Walker and our 2 - 2nd rounders, or else Walker and the Boston 1st rounder and a 2nd this year

I like those trades. I would rather do the one with the Boston pick though. If they up the age limit the next draft is going to be pretty weak. Wilcox seems like a good high energy guy to have next to Jefferson. I like the deal with or without Sene. So getting him would just be icing on the cake.

I think that trades away our cap flexibility for fringe players

If we drafted a center I wouldn't, but if the Wolves get a guard or SF then I'd go after Wilcox because we could re-sign him for 7 or 8 mil or so. He's only 25, not even in his prime yet. I really want an explosive finisher big man so Foye has someone to dish to in the paint, and also someone that can go up strong around the hoop. Wolves are kinda lethargic in the front court, Wilcox would bring some beastliness. Sene is a throw in as far as I'm concerned.

Wilcox had a really good defensive PER at the center spot too, he's pretty strong, not a pushover.

Even if we were to draft a center (lets say Lopez) our frontcourt would go from undersized to our strongest assest. Jefferson and Wilcox could start. Lopez could come off the bench and Gomes could play pf for whatever minutes would be left over. Then Brewer/Gomes could take all the minutes at sf. We could have a three guard rotation of Foye/Jaric/McCants with Brewer getting a few minutes at sg. That seems like a solid team to me. Plus wouldn't we have some money left over from not resigning Telfair/Smith/Snyder?
