I love my boy Cookie, but if we dont draft a 5 that can be a defensive enforcer, I just dont see us bringing Craig back.

Someone needs to back up Al. Cookie is our guy.

@ Karch: I heard that the Nets aren't making it a priority of bringing Diop back, but I can't confirm it.

Basically the entire Nets board seems to be against bringing Diop back as they already have Boone, S.WILL and possibly Kristic coming back. Their FO also hasnt done much to show they want him there.

As for Cookie, like i said, I want him here but if I was forced to choose btwn him and Gomes, i go with Gomes. I personally think if our FO only wants to keep one, it will be Gomes.

Cookie is great if he is willing to be the 15min a game back up. But I think he can be more. Also, depending on who we draft Gomes could be moved to the bench and he would play 4 and 3.

Love the Rhino Cookie, but I think he probably becomes the odd man out. They want to keep Gomes and should as he was our 2nd or 3rd best player the whole year. They're going to want Brewer at SF more and Gomes fits nicely as a backup at both forward positions, especially if we get a C or even if we don't.

The interest in keeping Diop might be old news as I was going by a report in Sporting News awhile back that they considered him a key part of the deal. That said I'm fine with them not wanting him back.
