I think Melo is getting too much flack for this.

Well, I have never given anyone a pass for driving drunk. I find it inexcusable that a person would risk the lives of others because they wanted to drink and drive.

However, even if I didn't feel that way, I would hope that if someone got a DUI, they'd at least learn from it. Carmelo got pulled over again on another traffic violation like nine days later!

An owner would be paying this kid tens of millions of dollars. If they can't even be sure he has the personal responsibility not to kill himself or someone else, then I wouldn't want him.

That violation you speak of was a speeding ticket. LeBron got one too. Hell I've gotten one and probably a third of the people on this board have gotten one too.

I see what you're saying about risking people's lives but we're talking about basketball here. If it doesn't affect his performance on the court, it shouldn't matter.

Athletes being law abiding citizens and/or role models is a different story.
