I agree and disagree at the same time. I think the majority of teams this would be true, but it has less to do with them being good/bad and more what style of offense they run and if they have other primary scorers.

I don't think Jaric would get run on some very bad teams, MEM and SEA? But could see decent amount of time with PHX or GSW, or in the future NYK. Also, I could see him in a roll as a 3 position backup on a good team playing sg, pg, and sf. Getting 5-15 mins per position.

Hasn't there been interest in Philly for Zach Randolph?

How about something like this that works in the checker: Trade ID #4611838

Minnesota Gives: Antoine Walker
Minnesota Gets: Jerome James and #6

New York Gives: Zach Randolph, Jerome James, and #6
New York Gets: Antoine Walker, Andre Miller, and Rodney Carney

Philadelphia Gives: Andre Miller and Rodney Carney
Philadelphia Gets: Zach Randolph

Why for the 76ers: The add in a PF who would pair nicely with Dalembert. Likely they would draft Augustine or Westbrook at #16, then.

Why for the Knicks: They move their two worst contracts for a couple expirings, one of which would be perfect for D'Antoni, and a guy on a rookie deal. All it costs them is the #6 pick.

Why for the Wolves: They take on James's deal, which basically turns out to paying 3million two years from now for this year's #6 pick. James adds size, thus might be serviceable. At the very least he's an expiring with Madsen next summer.

According to DraftExpress
1 Rose
2 Beasley
3 Lopez
4 Bayless
5 Love
6 Mayo

C - Lopez/James
PF - Jefferson/Smith
SF - Gomes/Brewer
SG - Mayo/McCants
PG - Foye/Jaric

and a couple of 2nd round picks.

How about adding in Jared Jeffries to the Wolves for Greg Buckner? Clears more space for the Knicks, and justifies us getting the #6. Jeffries expires the same time as Jaric.[/b]

Philly cuts mn out of that deal. Also, they'd get the pick as they give up the better player.

Because his heart would explode on court and Taylor would have to shell out $$$ to a dead guy?

But at least he would come off the salary cap sooner if he died

I call this part of the trade "Defective Ticker"

Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Etan Thomas, Eddy Curry, #6, MEM pick w/e dont care
Outgoing Players: Antoine Walker, Marko Jaric

New York Knicks
Incoming Players: Antoine Walker
Outgoing Players: Eddy Curry, #6

Washington Wizards
Incoming Players: Marko Jaric
Outgoing Players: Etan Thomas, MEM pick w/e dont care

Then...."Rib Spreader"
Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Zach Randolph
Outgoing Players: Greg Buckner, Etan Thomas, McCants

New York Knicks
Incoming Players: Greg Buckner, Rashad McCants, Etan Thomas
Outgoing Players: Zach Randolph

we have...."Cardiac Arrest"
Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Brian Cardinal, #5
Outgoing Players: Curry, #6, MEM Pick

Memphis Grizz
Incoming Players: Brian Cardinal, #6, MEM Pick
Outgoing Players: Curry, #5

....And Finally..."Time of Death"
Minnesota Timberwolves
Incoming Players: Ben Wallace
Outgoing Players: Zach Randolph
Cavs
Incoming Players: Zach Randolph
Outgoing Players: Ben Wallace

*The2nd trde works if done after 1st where you can recombine players you've aquired within x hours of original trade, and 3rd because MEM is under the cap. Not sure how MEM will view taking back curry I think he's 1 year longer than Cardinal, but Cardinal is completely useless. Where as Curry is just sometimes useless?

Wallace + Cardinal + 5 for Jaric, Walker, McCants, Buckner

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
