The KG===ex girlfriend was my analogy and I am in the process of suing TF21 for using it.

of the 4 remaining teams and as it stands now I only want KG to win it. even if San Antonio should make it anyhow to the finals I'd want KG to win even though I wouldn't be mad if the Spurs still win it. the Spurs are the one team I love watching only because of admiration. this is why I like to see them winning at all. anyway since it's getting less likely to happen I'm turning into full "please win it all KG" mode.

I don't remember naming names
I said it because of comments such as
I like Billups and Kobe way more than I like Garnett.

I didn't feel like looking up what others said. But this is the general idea.

Do you hate great basketball? Seriously, I think any basketball fan who suffered loyally through a painful Wolves' season deserves to watch some Lakers/Spurs or Celts/Pistons. It's fun, there are plenty of Wolves connections to be found (especially in the East Finals) and you don't have to suffer for the losses. Just pure, aesthetic enjoyment of the game played well.

Yeah, yeah...

DaKidKG wrote:Franchise, I wasn't trying to single you out. I think we actually have very similar feelings about KG being elsewhere. Like you, I don't jump for joy when the Celtics win, or get depressed when they lose. The Timberwolves are the only team that can make me feel that way.

The thing that surprised me was that people were either rooting for another team over the Celtics, or just didn't care who won. I know that whenever I watch a game, there has to be someone that I root for even if I don't follow the team. For example Giants vs. Patriots, I was pulling for the Giants because I hate the Patriots.

I like your analogy of KG being with another team compared to an ex being with another guy. I look at it a little differently though: for me it's like an ex girlfriend that you broke up with because a job forced you to move far away, then later she becomes a famous actress making millions. All of your friends think she's the hottest girl on the planet and nobody believes you ever dated her. So even though you don't have a chance of getting back with her, you're still happy for her because the relationship ended on good terms and you still care about her.

Understood. The Pistons and Spurs are boring teams, IMO. I'm glad the NBA is instituting rules to punish floppers like Ginobili and Horry. Right now I'm hoping for a Lakers/Celtics finals. Unfortunately, I don't see the Celtics winning. The Lakers have a deeper bench and younger legs. The x-factor is Kobe, he can take over the game at any single moment and still lock-down his man on the other end. There is no one like that on the Celtics. Also, the chemistry between Odom and Gasol is amazing.

I agree 100%. Any basketball fan loves this, regardless of the team you pull for. I'm DIE-HARD carolina fan.....but I still watch Duke games. Not because I like duke or not even because I hate them, but because I know it makes for "good basketball".

damn now KG needs to win the ring - or even the pistons. I don't want to see the lakers win - probably only for the sake of RealGM

LOL - I hear that. I wonder how many people the Laker Fans have alienated with the "Is Kobe the Greatest of All Time" threads. Last week one said that Bynum is the next Kareem.

On top of that, for me, that prima donna Kobe is my least favorite NBA player. Four months ago, when he thought the team was unworthy of him, he was trying to get traded.

lakers are playing convincing basketball, you can't deny that. and kobe is carrying his team on his shoulders. Like them or not, they are good - the best in the west.

pistons/celtics are on par. celtics are very thin...and if they loose, it's because of lack of depth. not that the pistons have alot of dephts...

in game 5, KG finally took over. Took and made the important shots. Still not as dominatn as Kobe with the lakes is.

I hope, the celtics win it, just because of KG.

If the lakers win it, the kobe makes a jump in the all time list from top 50 to probably top 20.

well it's not that I disrespect any of the Lakers players. in fact I actually like a bunch of them and I kinda love Kobe (on court) to a certain degree. probably because of admiration. anyway my biggest issue with the lakers is that it's the lakers. the franchise that was kinda lucky to beat our only serious playoff run. I'm not mad at them in any way but whenever I think about them being so lucky to face us w/o our 2nd best player and back up pg is frustrating. but I guess it has less to do w/ the lakers. I guess I'd be angry about any other franchise too. but that's the playoffs. injuries happen. that's it.
oh and some of their fans are really annoying to read/hear. I kinda appreciate reading post by a few of them but way too many of them are too homeristic for my taste though I think it is only the total number that makes it so bad. I guess it's the same percentage of them being homers but the total number is somewhat outstanding IMO.

Completely agree. This season has made me think a lot less of Kobe. How ridiculous is it that he demanded a trade and now his team is in the Finals. Sure they got Gasol within that time, but the rest of the team is pretty much the same. You don't go demanding trades unless you mean it and you deserve it. Neither were the case with Kobe.
