Addressing the buzz of what each of these teams is looking to do. It's too big to work (and it won't work in the checker until after the draft), but I spent too much time on it to just delete it. So now y'all can share my pain...

Wolves Send
Antoine Walker, Marko Jaric, Greg Buckner, Rashad McCants
Wolves Receive
Darko Milicic, Kyle Lowry, Raef LaFrentz (expiring), #13

Fills the need for a veteran big man and picks up a second lottery pick at the expense of our expirings (though we pick up a new one in LaFrentz) and McCants. Moves Jaric's contract to a team that could actually use his skills pretty well. I think I'm favoring the Wolves too much on this (depending on how much you value Milicic), so this actually may require us to drop from the #3 to the #5. If we do that, I'd guess we would take Gallinari instead of Mayo and move Brewer to the 2.

1 - Foye/Lowry
2 - Mayo (#3)/Snyder (resign)
3 - Brewer/Gomes (resign)
4 - Jefferson/Madsen
5 - Milicic/Jordan (#13)

Memphis Sends
Mike Miller, Darko Milicic, Kyle Lowry
Memphis Receives
Martell Webster, Channing Frye, Rashad McCants, Antoine Walker (expiring), JamesOn Curry

Moves Miller (which seems to be a priority) and alleviates the logjam at the point, while adding an expiring and a lot of young talent.

1 - Conley/Crittenden
2 - Webster/McCants
3 - Gay/Webster
4 - Warrick/Frye/Cardinal
5 - Lopez (#5)/Collins

Portland Sends
Raef LaFrentz, Martell Webster, Channing Frye, Jarrett Jack
Portland Receives
Marko Jaric, Kirk Hinrich, Thabo Sefolosha, #13

Gets three players who can be major contributors and moves a few players who seem to duplicate others on the roster. All the word has been that they want to reduce the size of the roster and add to the 1 and 3 positions. This gives them a good PG who's coming off an awful year but still has potential, an offensive wing (Jaric) and a defensive wing (Sefolosha) without giving away anything vital.

1 - Hinrich/Rodriguez
2 - Roy/Sefolosha
3 - Jaric/Outlaw
4 - Aldridge/McRoberts
5 - Oden/Przybilla

Bulls Send
Kirk Hinrich, Thabo Sefolosha, JamesOn Curry
Bulls Receive
Mike Miller, Jarrett Jack, Greg Buckner

Makes room for rose and doesn't give up any major talent (they like Thabo, but Miller is a definite upgrade) adding size at the 2, a backup at point and an expiring.

1 - Rose (#1)/Jack
2 - Miller/Gordon (resign)
3 - Deng (resign)/Simmons
4 - Gooden/Thomas
5 - Noah/Gray

I didnt look at it for all the teams, but just breaking down the MN piece tells me someone's geting hosed.

Eliminate Walker, Buckner, and Lafrenz from the equation because their expirings cancel each other out.

That leaves McCants and Jaric for Lowry, Darko, and the #13. That's WAY too good for MN.

I like it but I think POR is going to be a problem. I can't see them taking Marko Jaric, and their outgoing side should contain the #13.

I like the deal overall, but I don't think we'd be able to get LaFrentz's expiring in addition to all those other assets.

It's likely that we'd have to take on a long contract instead. Fun idea though, although it'll never happen.

I agree with all of you. It is a little weighted toward the Wolves (which I'm certainly okay with, but may be objected to by some other teams' fans =), but I'm not sure just eliminating all the expirings works either. Most likely we'd have to drop from #3 to #5 as I mentioned, or possibly take on a non-expiring salary, as PeeDee suggests...

how about just take the PDX #13 out of the trade

MN
out:
Antoine Walker, Marko Jaric, Greg Buckner, Rashad McCants
in:
Darko Milicic, Kyle Lowry, Raef LaFrentz (expiring)

Memphis
out:
Mike Miller, Darko Milicic, Kyle Lowry
in:
Martell Webster, Channing Frye, Rashad McCants, Antoine Walker (expiring), JamesOn Curry

PDX
out: Raef LaFrentz, Martell Webster, Channing Frye, Jarrett Jack
in:
Marko Jaric, Kirk Hinrich, Thabo Sefolosha

Chi
out:
Kirk Hinrich, Thabo Sefolosha, JamesOn Curry
in:
Mike Miller, Jarrett Jack, Greg Buckner

that seems more fair, but I'd have Buckner go to PDX and Jaric to Chicago instead

Memphis probably has to pony up a 2nd rounder too, they get a very good deal

PDX says no. Hinrich is a great fit, but we could probably deal directly with Chicago and get a better deal. I doubt Chicago wants to give up Thabo and PDX doesn't really need him with Roy and Fernandez in the mix.
