It goes on to say that he's been looking for a first round promise. Without that, he may pull out of the draft.

Man, he might pull out without a first round promise.
I was hoping that we could pull another Craig Smith and pick up an injured player as a steal.

Re: Bill Walker Injures Knee
we could always guarantee him that we'll sign him to a contract and see if he takes us at our word.
We gave Dwayne Jones a guaranteed contract and he was undrafted...I remember I was excited about that. Oh well. Since I'm on the topic, how sick would it be if Loukas Mavrokefalidis was suddenly just...had talent. Boy that would be awesome.

"Weirdos don't lead teams to championships."
A lot of people thought Bill Walton was pretty weird.
Personally, I wouldn't engage in scurrilous gossip, rumor, and innuendo that can permanently destroy someone's reputation--especially if I did it anonymously and with a motivation as unimportant and self-centered as the discouraging of my favorite sports team from drafting the subject of my intimations. Words, especially when written, can do more damage, and linger far longer, than we know.

Lol. This new layout must be confusing. That weirdos thing was said jokingly a long time ago in a completely different topic. It has nothing to do with this thread, it's just his sig.

Looks like the quotes are getting better by the day.
Does this mean he got the promise he was looking for? I dont wish on him or anyone for an injury to keep them from getting as much money as possible but I am kinda rooting for teams to pass on him so he can fall to us.

Id be ok with any combination of Hardin, Hibbert, Ibaka and CDR, Walker and Anderson.

Re: Bill Walker Injures Knee
I do not see Anderson projecting well. Just a gut take.
CDR is interesting.,his style is hard to project. Same with his roll. If we got him and Mayo it would be hard to find minutes for both with the guys we currently have. Just a tough take.
Right now my goal is
3-mayo
-2nd rd Hibbert and Ibaka.
Then I will be happy.

Re: Bill Walker Injures Knee
I like Anderson personally, he has been my dark horse (along with Hardin, ironic they are both from Cal and I root for Cal). He is offensively solid, he has a decent inside game, though he doesnt really look like he wants to crash bodies and would rather work outside in. If we dont retain Gomes than Anderson is a guy I would love to jump in his place. He struggles with rebounding and he isnt great defensively but I think he will be alright.

I agree on Hardin. I like him a lot.
Anderson reminds me of a role player. A Bullard type hustle/shoot never play more than 10min type guy.

I would be beyond ecstatic if that was the result of our draft.
I just can't see how Hibbert would fall to the second round. I really do think Ibaka is a realistic opportunity. In many mocks he is available around our picks, though I have seen him gone in the early 20's as well. I don't think I would trade up for him unless we think he can truly guard 5's without question (athletic enough, strong enough, skilled enough?) but rather a legitimate center prospect. RealGM mock has MN taking Thompson at #31 with Ibaka going #32. I can see the fit on "O" with Thompson's mid to short range offense, but Ibaka has the superior "D" and shot blocking. Additionally, his jumper and offense looks to be imrpoving and workable with the right coaching. I would much rather take his higher potential than what the mock has us doing.
As for Walker, I am not sure whether he is in or out now, but I am not happy to see all of the players that have been pulling out of the draft so far. I understand why, and have no doubt it is probably the best decision for them, I just think it hurts the value of the 2nd round picks since there are less prospects and less chance of someone dropping. Now granted, there are a good number of prospects, and our position in the beginning of the second round makes taking the mid to high end euros a better pick up due to no rookie scaling issues. Still, I just don't like it when options start to become more limited, as they may with less choices for the teams ahead of us.
Not sure the list of all who have opted out, but weren't most the UNC players, Buddinger, and Walker ?, on the list. And I am sure there are others. I am just hoping to get first round talent with the second rounders is all.

Re: Bill Walker Injures Knee
I don't think Hibbert or Ibaka fall to the 2nd, but they're both in the trade up range for 31+34. I don't think Hibbert gets past SAS at 26. If he does, he doesn't get past Detroit. He could go a lot earlier, mabye 23 to Utah, maybe 18 to the Wiz, maybe top 15. Ibaka could go anywhere from about 20 on, I suppose there's a small chance he falls to 31.

Cal forward Ryan Anderson announced Monday that he will bypass his final two years of college eligibility and remain in the June 26 NBA draft.
