Positive: Very nice package if we're building around Big Al. Foye, Love, and Miller will make teams pay for double teaming Big Al.

Negative: Defensive concerns, our PF/C is very undersized, neither being 6'10", hopefully they bring in a defensive stalwart at center and bring Love off the bench, making us very deep.

Positive: We're actually building a Team. I had concern over Mayo possibly being a headcase.
Negative: Team height & athleticism remain suspect.

I'm in favor of the trade overall, but I'd sure like to add a couple more players on the defensive side. I was dissapointed to move Chalmers. He was a steal - then stolen.

I'm suprised at how many of the so-called experts think MN came out well on the trade. i figued we be getting bashed for giving up Mayo the media glamour boy. Love seems to have won many over and Miller is consistantly being called a very under-rated SF.

pos: Love + Miller

neg: trading the 2nds before they know is available at the slot chalmers (idiots). Not only did I think he would he be the steal of the draft in the teens. But we got him at 34. cdr + chalmers and even jordan\hardin were available. God so annoyed.

positive: Got rid or jaric and walker, did not trade mccants, added a 3 point shooter which Minnesota really needed. miller and mccants together on the court should require a lot defensive attention from three point range which would be a positive for love and al jeff.

negative: would of been fun to watch mayo (think Minnesota might regret it in a couple of years) i hate trading away high draft picks because look what happened when Minnesota traded Roy and he was not number 3.

I dont think athleticism should remain suspect. I think minnesota will be as athletic as hawks. or some team similar to that style. foye and mccants are quick and strong guards, al jeff is a beast that wont be pushed around, maybe athleticism would lack from kevin love and miller but you really want high iq players around those athletic guards.

HC Frank of NY Nets has commentary on Collins: In a nutshell, he's a defensive role player. Basically sets picks on the offensive end of the floor. I'd compare him to a more experienced Chris Richard.

Positive: Our defense improves. I'm serious. With Miller in the lineup we get a capable defender to play the 3. Brewer will D up at the 2 for several minutes, which will be an improvement over Jaric. Love will D up at the 4 or 5 which will be an improvment over Ryan Gomes. Gomes will play more defense at the 3. I can't see how we'll be a worse defensive team then last year or with Mayo. Mayo would have been good defensively at the 2, but he would have ben undersized. Brewer would have remained exclusively at the 3 where he could have been outmuscled. Gomes would have had to play more minutes at the 4 where he is undersized. To me we are definately a much better team defensively. No question. If we can sign Patrick OBryant and he can be a capable backup, then we'll have all the length we need.

Negative: Miler and Pekovic together probably make us the ugliest team in the NBA.

One more positive: Miller is from one of the Dakotas (can't remember which), so he'll be one of the rare veterans that will actually want to play here. Just adds to team chemistry.
