Timberwolves Schedule

Post#1 » by shrink » Wed Aug 6, 2008 4:46 pm

I just thought I'd start a straight (!) thread since we'll find it useful.

www.nba.com/timberwolves/news/wolves_an ... 80806.html

The Minnesota Timberwolves will tip off their 20th regular season in the National Basketball Association by hosting the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at Target Center at 7 p.m. (CST).

The home portion of the Timberwolves schedule features 23 weekend dates (8 - Friday, 9 - Saturday, 6 - Sunday). The home schedule also includes 11 Wednesday, five Tuesday and two Monday games.

Celtics here Nov 21st

nba.com wrote: The 2008-09 season tips off on TNT, which marks Turner Sports’ 25th season of NBA game action, with a doubleheader on Tuesday, Oct. 28, that features the Boston Celtics opening up defense of their NBA championship by hosting 2007-08 NBA scoring champion LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers at 8 p.m. ET. The second game features the first regular season game for the top overall selection in the 2007 NBA Draft presented by Sprite Greg Oden and the Portland Trail Blazers as they visit reigning MVP presented by Kia Motors Kobe Bryant and the 2008 NBA Finals runner-up Los Angeles Lakers at 10:30 p.m. ET. TNT’s coverage of the Cavaliers-Celtics game will also feature the championship ring ceremony for the Celtics beginning at 7 p.m. ET.

I'm so glad the opener is at home so I can be there. It's also a game we should win.

Minnesota’s 2008-09 local television broadcast schedule will be released at a later date, as will the date single-game home tickets go on sale. Following are key facts regarding the Wolves 2008-09 regular-season schedule, as well as a copy of the schedule with dates and starting times.

LOL, we have no games on national TV. (Portland has 13, Utah 11, Denver 16, OKC 1)

http://www.nba.com/schedules/national_tv_schedule/

Also, looks like we play Portland in New Orleans and Sacramento in Memphis.

No games? Damn, I thought getting Mayo would give us a couple, Memphis does have 1 game but we got none> Not even a Boston game?

I just going to post this and ask if you guys had heard anything about what that's about? Very odd. I figured at first it was an error, but since you guys have two of those games maybe not?

Didn't see the Sac in Memphis game for you guys. Looks like they're both slated as "home" games. Maybe there is an event at the Target center both of those days that the NBA couldn't schedule around? I had read on ESPN maybe a week ago that the schedule was running late and that the Seattle/OKC thing really was making things tough as the guy in charge had to make one schedule for Seattle and a seperate one for OKC. Don't know how that could affect two Minny home games.... but who knows?

I'm wondering if maybe we might. We play at Boston on a Sunday morning at 11 am Feb 1st. (Noon in Boston) Usually that early of a game on Sunday should be televised. Hopefully ABC doesn't screw us over not letting it be aired at all even locally.

0 national TV games makes me angry. Just just not right. Each team should get at least a couple.

OJ Mayo only brought Memphis 1 nationally televised game.

I get tired of seeing the same 8 teams play every week. I think every week or at least every other week they should have one of the more obscure teams get a national game. I never get to see the Bobcats, never. How about Clippers?

I mean, the stinking Nuggets get 15 games and unless they make a big deal they will probably suck. Those fools don't play any D. I would think that KG's return game to Minnesota would at least warrant some national coverage. Don't the Bobcats have a strong rivalry with the Knicks or something? Put a few of these game on, let's see something different for once.

Well here is the breakdown of games.

Lakers, Celtics, Suns & Cavs - 25 each
Mavs - 21
Spurs - 19
Nuggets - 16
Pistons - 14
Rockets, Hornets & Blazers - 13 each
Magic, Jazz & Wizards - 11 each
Bulls - 10
Heat - 9
Warriors - 8
76ers - 7
Raptors - 2
Hawks, Clippers, Grizzlies, Bucks, Nets & Oklahoma City - 1 each
Bobcats, Pacers, T'Wolves, Knicks & Kings - 0 each

You remember last year on sundays when the wild were on 45 and 5 and they wouldn't show the NBA games. If that happens again, I've killed for less.

not even the Knicks will be televised on national TV? come on. I mean they don't have a great team to begin with but neither do the Bucks, Nets or Grizzlies.

I'm also surprised that the Suns are also among the most televised teams. I know they (used to) play a viewer friendly style but IMO they do not deserve to be among the best. same goes for the Cavs but Lebron seems to be enough to warrant it.

We'll just have to make the playoffs to get some coverage lol.

Performance should surely mean something. The heat get 9 and the raptors only get 2!

We have season tickets (section 131 center court 22 rows up). 2 of the four groups we split tickets with have given up on the Timberwoves. We have extra tickets to sell - Face value $125 - we sell them for less because of our discount as season ticket holders. I don't know if I can give more information to sell without getting into trouble with the RealGM gods. So if okay to share the opportunity to go to games - I will do so. - Let me know.
