Wolves rotation to start the season should be:
C - Kevin Love - Or label him as PF if you like, doesn't matter. Collin's injury all but guarantees him starting spot. Just say NO to a friggin' small-ball. Big Al and Love are both very thick, can rebound, block shots and post-up. I say it works *very* nicely on offense. On defense it's better than Big Al - Gomes frontline from last season. I can settle for that. It's not like we have a choice now anyway.
PF - Al Jefferson - He's our best player. 'Nuff said.
SF - Ryan Gomes - Look, he was arguably the second best player on the roster last season. I say he should start. He earned it. And besides his size is a big mismatch at a small forward position, where he can post-up smaller guys and score over them. He's still young and improving. He can defend and knock an open three. What's not to like here?
SG - Mike Miller - He's our second best player, versatile offensive weapon and a sharpshooter. He's tall for a SG and a good rebounder, so he and Gomes should compensate for our undersized frontcourt a little.
PG - Randy Foye - He's the only PG on the roster not named Telfair. That automatically makes him a starter. He's not a natural point and he never will be, but with passing big like Love in the line-up Wolves can survive that.
Second unit - Telfair, McCants, Brewer, Smith - Telfair and McCants play together well and a nice combo to have off the bench. Shaddy will be the main scorer on the 2nd unit, which is a good role for him. Brewer will be the defensive stopper off the bench. Smith is there for his offence to compensate for Telfair and Brewer's shortcomings in this area and to bully people around the basket.
Garbage minutes - Carney, Richard, Snyder, etc.
Of course this is gonna change with Collins returning, Carney possibly earning minutes over Brewer, possible Livingston signing, etc. But this is how I see it right now.
