MN/Heat Trade

Post#1 » by SpencerBusch » Tue Nov 4, 2008 5:35 pm

This might be a lobsided trade so insert picks at your will to improve trade if needed.

Twolves Trade:
Rodney Carney (exp)
Craig Smith
Corey Brewer
Jason Collins (exp)
Brian Cardinal

for

Marion
and
Chalmers

Why for Heat.
Yea Marion is a expiring so you might as well trade him now before he just leaves..Also you get a exp big in Jason Collins and a expiring Swingman in Rodney Carney who they will most likely love to resign for a 2-3 year deals after the season is over. You would get a smart Brain Cardinal who could play a role on the end of the bench, but also help the youngins stay in line and teach them some stuff around the league. Plus then next year he will be very valuable because he is a exp. So they will have some more cap space to sign Wade in 2010. Than you get 2 young potential filled players. Brewer is not yet shown that he was worth the lottery pick that he was drafted in, but we do know that he does play some good defense and has the potential of being something special. Craig Smith has already surpassed his 2nd round status. He would be good for the Heat because he has some years left on his contract which isnt that big so that he can prove what he can do in a everyday role with the heat were next year or possibly this year he would average 8-10 ppg 5+ Rebounds if he have 15+ minutes.

Why for the Twolves
You add another threat to the Timberwolves arsenal along with Al and Love and Mccants. Marion is a great player but just isnt a god enough #1 option which is fine because he would be our #2/3 option for score. He also can rebound and play defense which shoudnt be a plus, but now its getting harder to find guys that can shoot the ball and play defense. We also get Mario Chalmers who has some high potential at PG. We could move foye back to SG and have a pretty sweet core. And most yall think it wont be good because he got in trouble in the rookie thinger, just think of it this way. If he doesnt turn out to be much, that problem he has will keep our players happy and will get us some free agents in the future

Think of a core of Al Jefferson Marion Gomes Mccants Love Chalmers and Foye and Miller! I see championship rings in our future if we cud pull this off.

I don't like Marion and I have a hard time paying for Chalmers when we should've gotten him for free

it'd make us better though...but probably not by a whole lot

Marion's on a short list of players that I wouldn't want on the team, so I'd pass.

We already had situations where we could have had both of these players (KG trade for Marion, last draft for Chalmers) so i have a really tough time trying to make sense of giving up this much. Especially since when the idea of Marion coming here via KG the talk was that we needed to swing him to a 3rd team.

Plus Miami would have to cut like 4-5 players to get their roster to size.

hmm neva

I like brewer a lot so you'd need to blow me away to trade him

replace brewer with the mia pick and make it a 3 way, and return something to MN

The Timberwolves would have a majorly depleted bench afterwards.

HA...post in study hall. Not in class.

btw, this trade does not make sense for either side. We are going for youth and depth, trading that away for Marion harms that. Mia does not want parts, they want upgrades so moving marion for young parts does not help them either.

lol ok. I did look at my trade and did see a problem. That we would barely have a bench after that it was made...

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
