What if we could get two established veterans? How much of our future are we willing to trade to be good now? We could probably get somebody decent for some combination of Foye/Brewer/picks and another guy for Love +.

No thanks. Impatience leads to mediocrity. Trading away youth and potential for vets MIGHT be enough to get us to the playoffs... but I don't want to GET to the playoffs, I want to dry hump them and then pee on them when we're done.
I just dont think we could land all-star calibur players with what we have. We'd likely end up with middle teir vets. Then, in a few years, we'd be back at square one when the vets left, or begin declining.
I think when rebuilding, patience is a virtue. I understand where all the frustration is coming from... heck, I made a ridiculous trade scenario up because of it. But I think we really need to expect this process to take a while. This is a new team and it's only beginning to take shape.

Al would still be here. I always thought it was unrealistic to expect a group of young guys to grow together, that's not how it usually works.

All I was saying was that any trades for vets we realistically could make, would at best, make us OK. I dont' want to be OK, I want to be a heavyweight. <insert Love joke>

NJ sends: Lawrence Frank
Minny sends: Wittman
????
I ran it through the trade checker:
Failed Trade Scenario
Sorry, but this trade simply does not work.
Due to New Jersey and especially Minnesota being crappy teams, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Minnesota had to be at no more than 125% of the crappiness given out to New Jersey for the trade to be accepted, which did not happen here by a long shot (only New Jersey met the condition). This trade no way in hell satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
