Wolves/Raptors

Post#1 » by B Calrissian » Sat Dec 20, 2008 5:22 am

Wolves
In - Parker/Ukic/Jawai/Graham
Out - McCants/Telfair/Smith/Carney

Foye/Ollie/Ukic
Miller/Parker -- Brewer
Gomes/Graham
Love/Cardinal/Madsen
Jefferson/Collins/Booth -- Jawai

Parker - A smart player that would be perfect to fill in for Brewer this season. He probably wouldn't stick around next season but the cap space will be nice.

Ukic - If Ollie is McHales pick to back up Foye for the season there might as well be a pg with potential waiting on the bench.

Graham - Athletic, strong, low bb iq. Probably wouldn't get many minutes if Carney doesn't now. His contract is up after this season.

Jawai - I don't think he ready to play yet but adding a young big is what this team needs. He had heart issues or something earlier this season. I think he ended up being okay.

Raptors
In - McCants/Telfair/Smith/Carney
Out - Parker/Ukic/Jawai/Graham

Calderon/Tefair/Solomon
McCants/Carney/Adams
Moon/Kapono
Bosh/Smith/Humphries
O'Neal/Bargnani/Vokuhl

The Raptors new coach wants the team to run more and they currently don't have the depth to do so. They also need a better back up pg. They get both things here.

?????

This trade makes us way worse than we are now. The Raptors bench is even worse than ours - that is why they are a losing team....

we would get some cap space but I think we can get better offers for our bench players than this one xD

These are the low-level player deals that I love, and you present it well, BC. TOR is playing very poorly, and they aren't paying Jermaine O'Neal $21 mil for their 10-16 record. They also want to start winning so that Bosh stops being booed at home, and increase their chances he sticks around in TOR. This is exactly the type of pigeon .. um, I mean fellow NBA team .. that should be interested in trading, particularly giving up promising youth for vets.

I agree with your assessment on Parker, but I think he's starting for the Raptors right now. I have to confess, I don't follow them closely any more because their trade board fans are so irrational, I haven't wasted my time reading many Raptor threads for about a year. Anyway, I wouldn't mind stowing away the second-rounder Jawai, or someone like Ukic. I agree with you that they might want to gamble on McCants upside.

What about pairing it down without Parker to:

Jawai + Ukic + Graham for McCants + Ollie?

There are also possibilities for a team like this to offer talent for their first rounder next year, while they believe they will succeed in the east with that much talent. According to reports, Bargnani may be quietly being shopped, but he really doesn't do much for me at over $5 mil a year, despite this season's improvement.
