Carney has earned more minutes in the coming weeks. That's it.

Carney has earned his minutes and I've been impressed with his play. I think it's too early to say for sure what to do with him, but if he continues at the clip he's at I definitely would like to keep him. In that scenario Miller is traded by this off season at the latest. Carney is a 2/3 and Gomes is a 3/4 so there's some ability for them to get minutes.

Then it becomes what happens with Brewer, what happens in FA, and what happens in the draft.

I'm not as enamored with Brewer as others to where I would just not re-sign Carney and/or trade Gomes to annoint Brewer the starter. He's got potential, but right now it's just that and we need at least all of next season to even have an idea about Brewer. Doesn't make sense to trade Brewer because you wouldn't get much for him at this point.

Carney is a 2.

no worries there.

They are the same height and Carney defends way better. I think Carney is a way better option to start at small forward.

Bassy-Foye-Carney-Love-Al

He has 3 good games and all of a sudden goes from a nobody to our starting SF of the future?

No, not our SF of the future. But better than Gomes.

yeah, I am REALLY loving the Carney acquisition right now, but he needs to keep up his elevated play to the end of the season to be really impressive. Lots of players look great in short stretches.

I love the idea of Carney and Brewer at 2/3 against running teams like Golden State or Phoenix. That's some FAST transition play. Plus Foye and Telfair both have wheels, so either one of them can get out on the break especially with Love tossing those outlets. That's a really nice fast break 4-some.
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.
