NJN GETS: Jason Collins (exp) + Craig Smith

MIN GETS: Stromile Swift (exp) + Maurice Ager (exp) + Sean Williams

A few weeks ago, NJN tried to make a deal where they could turn Sean Williams into an expiring. CHI nixed the deal, and tried to insert Ager, making it expiring for expiring, and NJN walked away. To me, this means the Nets really want to get out of Sean Williams second year.

Swift and Collins have matching $6.2 mil expirings, and have had about the same amount of playing time .. zilch. Stromile hadn't been with the team for a while for "personal reasons." Ager is a walking DNP. NJN has been starting Hassell and Ryan Anderson (who's doing well lately) at forward. I could see Smith fitting next to Lopez or Josh Boone, but they may be more interested in a SF, and they've been mentioned as courting Mike Miller. That might be worth looking at too, since the Nets have won 4-of-5 and are the 8th seed in the east right now, and they are also one of only a couple teams that has extra centers.
