Anyone interested in Dooling? We may be able to negotiate and squeeze him in a deal with Boone, although that might be a bit of a stretch with him backing up Harris pretty well.

No dooling.
Yi has inconsistent value based on the rumor that he is closer to 27.
I don't see NJ being a good trade partner.

I like that deal. I think that first will be pretty good this year even with the idea that Miller improving their record. We could really make some noise in the draft this year packaging picks to move up.

Re: Nets Want Mike Miller?
Using the Carter to Dallas rumor i came up with this:
Dallas In: Vince Carter, Rashad McCants, Eduardo Najera
Dallas Out:Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse
New Jersey In: Mike Miller, Josh Howard, Calvin Booth, Mia 1st
New Jersey Out: Vince Carter, Josh Boone, Stromile Swift, Eduardo Najera
Minny In: Josh Boone, Stromile Swift, Jerry Stackhouse
Minny Out: Mike Miller, Rashad McCants, Calvin Booth, Mia 1st
Dallas gets a big time boost in perimeter scoring, a big time star and Vince Carter. McCants is also basically expiring. Najera is added depth since they're in win-now mode.
New Jersey gets two big time players at positions of need, and neither of their contracts run past 2010. Howard has a team option if they want to keep him. They cut 2 post 2010 contracts at the cost of a young big and expiring. This also helps get them to the playoffs where they can get some of their very young players some big game experience
Minny obviously does this for the money. Stackhouse is unguaranteed next year and Swift is an expiring. Add Collins to the mix and we have 3 big time expiring contracts to clear space this coming off season. I dont know about the health status of Stack but if he can play he can fill in some veteran minutes. We swap the Mia 1st for a young defensive minded big.
Feel free to make any adjustments or comments.

sign Kidd get t-mac run with this Kidd/Carter/T-Mac/Love/Jefferson
wont happen but it would be a fun line up on offense

No! Trading Miller, McCants, and a first for Boone and expirings? I am under the assumption that other teams are willing to take on Miller for expirings, so I think the Wolves would need more. Possibly removing the mia #1 and adding the 2010 Dallas unprotected #1, but I'm not positive that is enough, and not sure NJ gets enough in that deal.

Marc Narducci wrote: Mike Miller. Last season he was on the trading block at the deadline but stayed with Memphis and didn’t get dealt to Minnesota until draft night. Miller would be a good fit in Cleveland and at $9 million this year and $9.7 million next season, would be a less expensive option than Carter.
Again, this would probably only work if the Wolves are looking to dump salary. The biggest chip the Cavs have is to trade is Szczerbiak’s expiring contract. Cleveland could trade Szczerbiak and Hickson to Minnesota for Miller and Brian Cardinal (owed $6.7 million next year). Both Miller and Cardinal have contracts that expire after next the 2009-2010 season.
San Antonio would also be a good destination for Miller.

Re: Trading Mike Miller?
I haven't followed the Vince Carter/Josh Howard trade scenarios, but if the one rumored at Yahoo Sports is true
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=a ... &type=lgns
.. of Vince Carter, Keyon Dooling, and Eduardo Najera to the Mavericks for Josh Howard and Jerry Stackhouse, then Stackhouse provides a piece that would allow the Nets to (almost) match the expirings that CLE or POR could provide. I say "almost" because Stackhouse has $2 mil in guaranteed salary on next year's deal, and I'm ignoring POR's insurance. This could allow a deal like this:
NJN GIVES: Vince Carter, Keyon Dooling, Eduardo Najera, Stromile Swift, Josh Boone
NJN GETS: Josh Howard, Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal
DAL GIVES: Josh Howard, Jerry Stackhouse
DAL GETS: Vince Carter, Keyon Dooling, Eduardo Najera
MIN GIVES: Mike Miller, Brian Cardinal
MIN GETS: Stromile Swift, Jerry Stackhouse, Josh Boone
New Jersey gets rid of $20.5 mil in guaranteed salary in 2010-11, so they might be getting off a little light here, as everything they receive becomes a tradable expiring contract in four months. Financials work out great for the Nets.
Josh Howard 9,945,000 10,890,000
Mike Miller 9,128,575 9,880,937
Brian Cardinal 6,300,000 6,750,000

I like Karch's trade. Seems like everybody wins.
Dallas upgrades it's scoring and gets a great backup PG.
NJN trade 1 starting caliber player for 2.
Min dumps a bunch of salary and gets Boone to boot

Yes - Shrink's trade makes more sense for us.
Is it realistic that Miller and Howard could play on the court at the same time? Both of them seem like SF is their most likely position.

Thanks, but it was shrink's trade. I like it, but would like to get some kind of pick as I think Boone is a nice player, but not really a difference maker. Although I haven't seen a lot of him in NJ.

I dont see us getting to move Miller and Cardinal and getting 2 good sized expirings and a young prospect big who can actually start.

I don't either.
Your trade only got rid of one of the two, plus added a mid first round draft pick, and only picked up a marginal young prospect in return.
