How fast is Rodney Carney?

Seriously, I think he's foot speed in underrated. The man just looks ridiculously fast for his height on the open court. Once he gets going in the open court its over, no one is catching him. What's even funnier is that it looks like half the time he is slowing down and shuffling because his ball handling skills don't allow him to move with the ball as fast as he wants to in transition.

If this guy can ever put it all together....wow. He is easily one of the most athletic guys in the league. Unlike G. Green he isn't an idiot, plays good D, and plays within himself, and actually tries. Ball handling can be improved and I really think he can start in this league. He's only 24....actually it's his 25th Birthday tomorrow so Happy Early Bday Carney!!!! My point is he still has time to improve and even if he doesn't he's still a good asset and a spark off the bench. The only problem with that is it seems like we have a lot of those guys, and not enough quality starters. Still, I couldn't be happier with this guy and I'm glad we finally shut down Mccants and gave him a chance.

He is a good spark off the bench. Problem is if we draft anyone at the 2/3 he is a good as gone next year. Further reason to put value into the pg spot. I think between Gomes/Carney/Miller/Foye/Brewer we will already have a minutes problem next year.

Good attitude, good shot/athletic ability but low bbIQ which will keep him as a bench spark.

Yeah, I can't see where he's going to fit next year. Even if we don't draft a player at the 2/3, he's still going to lose more minutes to Brewer, Miller, Gomes. I would hate to see him go cheaply though.

I did some research awhile back and looked at the 3/4 court sprint combine numbers for players in the past 7-8 years or so and I believe Carney was in the top 5. So yes, he really is that fast, and obviously the guy can jump out of the gym as well. I don't really think he'll be anything more then what we see today though, he doesn't have the handle or craftyness to convert shots around the rim so he's not really an offensive threat outside of the ocassional three pointer and transition dunks.
