Road Field Advantage?

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Sat Apr 11, 2009 4:06 am

The Wolves are the only team in the NBA with a better record on the road than at home. What gives?

We suck about the same whether it be on the road or at home.

I wish we had a GSW-like crowd. That alone would probably will the team to a few more wins per season.

We have more fans at away games then home games. Our home crowd is pitiful. Look back at the highlights of the KG playoff game against Sactown. If we had that kind of energy our team would respond. But the target center is dead and I would hate playing there.

Exactly. Target Center crowd is so docile and quiet people buy tickets just to get some peaceful sleep. On the road there is a lot more energy, even if it is negative, it gets the players pumped.

Crowd or no crowd, you would think familiar surroundings would help a little bit. And the crowd, though pitiful, isn't completely to blame. It's my opinion that the Wolves have the worst house announcer of any stadium I have ever witnessed a sporting event.

I dunno, the Spurs guy gets on my damn nerves.

Also, with KG the crowd played off his emotions, we dont have anyone like that yet. Jefferson kinda, but i he isnt near as intense and it doesnt help that we have back to back 20-some win seasons.

Love can be intense..needs more of it.

We have too many nice guys. We need someone to yell and screem.

Gomes? no.
Al? no..
Brewer (*cannot quit smiling)
Foye no

hmm, we need to draft someone who barks loud.

Teams like the Kings and Grizzlies get less fans than the Wolves and still manage to perform better at home. Maybe it's the new court design? The mix of the dark and light wood is distracting

Kings actually have as many wins as us at home. Griz beat us by 4.

The fans that are at Kings and Grizz games probably actually give a damn and are not composed of a bunch of suits who are there to talk shop and give standing ovations to opposing star players.

I've been to a few Clippers games this year, and just one Wolves game (against Memphis around X-Mas time) and the Wolves crowd was actually much better than the dilapidated Clippers crowds.

Clippers arent the only show in town though. And the other show is MUCCCH better. Nobody really likes to say they are proud to be a Clippers fan aside from Billy Crystal.

Man if i lived in Minny i would probably be the loudest fan in attendance.
