This is just sickening. The day before the draft lottery. Get ready for Stephen Curry or Ty Lawson at #8

The Blazers went through a similar situation right after Bob Whitsitt quit. They hired Steve Patterson as president and basically had to take their last option for GM with John Nash because the owner and president made it clear that the GM wouldn't have total freedom over roster moves. When owners and non-basketball personnel have too much say in shaping the roster, it turns away off lot of good candidates.

We've been there, so I feel your frustration.

Can you tell me why you take him seriously?

How could Simmons carry the respect of the players and front office personnel who've devoted their lives to basketball? How could he lead, if people won't follow?

And how would he deal with other GM's and organizations after publicly mocking so many of them? Wouldn't this put the Wolves tremendously behind, even before he made his first phone call.

The Simmons campaign for GM is an intentional joke.

I've been wondering for awhile if Penn is to be such a good catch why Portland would let him go.

Penn might just have been posturing for a promotion in the Rose Garden like many players do to get a better contract.
