My attempt to get Paul in Minnesota.

The trade occurs on July 1st; so Jefferson is not BYC anymore, and Paul is BYC instead of PPP

Dallas outgoing: stackhouse, shawne williams = 9,666,067 in salary
Dallas incoming: miller 9,880,957 in salary
-Why? they get miller for spare parts, also they get Paul out of their division

Cleveland outgoing: Pavlovic = 4,750,000 salary
Incoming: posey 6,031,800 in salary
-Why? they get the perfect bench player and shutdown player in posey; I don't know if Cleveland would do this

New Orleans outgoing: Paul, Posey, Chandler, Peja = 38,552,800 salary
incoming: jefferson, foye, stackhouse, pavlovic, utah pick, pekovic, cardinal, smith = 36,625,701 salary
-Why? They save a ton of money in 2009-2010. They send out 45,431,800 in salary for 2009-2010 and they take back 36,625,701; they could then waive stackhouse and pavlovic to save more money and actually only take back 27,625,701 million dollars which is 17,806,099 million in savings WITHOUT the luxury tax implications. Plus they would save another 20 million+ in 2010-2011; so with the luxury tax implications that is probably savings of at least 40 million dollars over the next 2 years. Also they get a great return with a budding young big man in jefferson, a couple of future assets in the pick and pekovic, and a possible replacement for paul in foye. They have a core of Jefferson, West, and Foye to build around and they would have lots of cap space in 2010-2011
Foye/A. Daniels
Peterson/A. Daniels/Brown
Butler/Wright/Peterson
West/Smith/Cardinal
Jefferson/Armstrong

Minnesota outgoing: Jefferson, Miller, Foye, Smith, Utah pick, rights to Pekovic, Cardinal = 34,506,718 in salary
Minnesota incoming: Paul, Peja, Chandler = 41,816,067 in salary
Why? They could pair Paul with Love, Chandler, #6, and some role players. We would be situated a lot like New Orleans is now, but we have the ability to add young talent, the time and money to wait until Peja becomes an expiring and make a move.
Paul/Telfair/Brown
#6 (Harden)/Brewer
Peja/Gomes/Brewer
Love/#28 (Hansbrough)
Chandler/#18 (Mullens)/Madsen

Why deal Jefferson here, that frontcourt really isn't a great scoring team with Love and Chandler. They are scrappy, but they can't score much. Outside of Paul and Harden no one on this team can create their own shot. Gomes a bit, but he is so inconstant. I don't see this team being better than the Hornets team now or really the team the wolves have now. lots of games with the score in the 70s would be expected.
