He speaks pretty candidly. That's a plus in my book.

Yeah but the negatives have been about him being a penny pincher and things of that nature. Not about what boards he has served on or what arena he helped build.
Spoken like someone that's never been to Conseco Fieldhouse.

Yeah. Zgoda's blog has basically been a place where people have been pimping the idea of Lindsey, Penn, and that clown Simmons. Not too much positive has been said about Kahn.
So he posts there to seem "in-touch" with the fans, while "tooting his own horn". He wants people to like him. We all do, of course, but most of us don't try so hard.
He needs to realize that if he does go out and bust his tail to make this team successful, and he turns us into a resptable franchise, the fans will follow.
His past doesn't mean jack at this point. It's his present and future is the only thing that matters.
1. I think you're overestimating the amount of effort it takes to type up 3 paragraphs or so about why you're qualified for the job you were just hired for. Don't most GM's, head coaches, owners, draft picks, etc. do something similar when they come into a new situation?
2. It seems he does realize this, since the bolded is basically just a distillation of one of the paragraphs in his missive to the fans. The big thing is whether or not he'll be able to accomplish it.

Re: Personal Message from Kahn
I'm not over-estimating anything. But how often do you see a new GM, coach, whatever, go post on a newspaper's blog after being hired? Especially one that's been used to knock him down by fans as of late. Like I said, it screams, "Please like me."
But like I said, now that he's the GM, I'm willing to give him a shot. No sense in complaining about his past. Only thing that matters now is that he makes us into a successful franchise for the long term.

Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree, since I don't think it's all that uncommon for a new hire to take the time to connect with one of the 2 beat writers in town after being hired, and I think you're overestimating the effort it took him to reprint his winning entry from Glen Taylor's 2009 "Why I should be the GM of the Timberwolves" essay contest.

I am going to give him a shot, but if Telfair is our starting pg once november rolls around I won't be happy at all with him.
