No doubt in my mind. He's one of the best leapers I can think of in recent memory. Certainly above 40. He's ~6'6 in shoes. If you watch this video you will see most of the time his head is easily into the net, and there are some where the crown of his head is roughly equal to the net. The block offa 2 steps around 1:20 is a good example of this with his shoulder in the net lol.

I'm not sure what his max would be but...
120 inches to rim - 78inches(his height) = 42 +/- 3 inches. (39-45)

I wouldn't be shocked if he's in the range of 39-45 which is absurd. I'd peg Derozan in a similar range but I doubt he has the same max vert(38-42?). Plus I think williams has a quicker leap or at least seems to be able to leap in different ways more effectively than most. One footed, 2 footed, Flat footed, 1 step, 2 step, 1 step 1 leg, 1 step w\ 2 foot gathered, on the run, etc. Just an opinion obviously.

Now if only he had a killer jumper!!

Maybe it was just the camera angle, but I've seen a few videos where DeRozan's forehead was at rim level on some dunks. I'm guessing his vert is going to be in the 40-45 inch range.

Derozan is clearly the better pick but he won't fall into that range. Williams hasn't been able to imrpove his efficiency over 4 years in college, he doesn't get to the line nearly enough, when he's there he doesn't convert well. Maybe when he gets to the pro's he can work out some of his flaws. I do like what he brings, but I can't think of a college player who was so inefficient over 4 years in college that turned it around in the pros.

I just looked at the measurement database again and I saw that Vince Carter had a 36.0 no step and 43.0 max vertical. I would be shocked if either DeRozan or Williams had better vertical leaps than that (or even equal for that matter). I expect for them both to be around 34.0 no step 41.0-42.0 max vertical, with DeRozan being slightly better.

I think you're much better off looking at game footage if you want to get an idea of a guys jumping ability. It's an interesting exercise to see where people measure out at in the gym, but the ability to jump in a game is an almost unrelated skill. The only measurements of interest to me are the height/reach type measurements, just to get a baseline to compare players who haven't played against each other. Until we saw Griffin's height actually measured I thought he was going to be much shorter than he actually is - so the in game speed we saw is now more impressive knowing he is actually as tall as claimed.
