Re: New Coach
Looking like the word out of Minnesota is Kevin McHale.
This is very good news, I am very sure he had to pass the litness test, A Fully motivated McHale is a real blessing for Timberwolves. You know he aint just coaching cause he has nothing else to do, that dude wanna take it all.

So what are your thoughts on Laimbeer?
A little birdie says former Detroit Pistons star Bill Laimbeer would love the Timberwolves' head-coaching job
http://www.fannation.com/truth_and_rumors/view/106494-laimbeer-wants-t-wolves-job?eref=fromSI
Bill Laimbeer will be stepping down as the Detroit Shock head coach after more than six seasons with the team, according to the Detroit Free Press and WXYZ Detroit.
Although unconfirmed at this time, rumors suggest that Laimbeer is stepping down to pursue an NBA coaching opportunity.

I'd be all over it. I'd love to give him a chance as a head coach here.

Re: New Coach
Laimbeer is interested in ANY coaching job. He struggles even getting interviews. Most of the guys who are coaches or GMs in the NBA these days are guys who took an elbow from him at some point.

Ah, I was going to make a crack about hiring him as McHale's assistant so they could throw elbows at each other on the bench. I'm too slow.

Re: New Coach
we need a PG asst, a PG that was good in college, maybe even a division II PG, but didn't get to go to the NBA so he overcompensated by creating a bunch of intricate plays with X's and O's up the wazoo

Re: New Coach
Jeff Van Gundy would obviously be the best choice for the Wolves but I doubt he'd be available. I think the Wolves want someone who demands respect out of his players. If hiring an assistant, Thibodeau would be my top choice. I actually wanted the Knicks to hire him over D'Antoni. Laimbeer could be an interesting wild card but in the end, if JVG is available, DO WHATEVER IT TAKES!

I think JVG is a decent coach, not worth his exorbitant salary though. He's 38% overrated

Re: New Coach
I don't think mitchell would be bad. He would be extremely likable in the eyes of fans and the players and if he can win a coach of the year job with the team he won it with, then he should have no problem constructing a similar program with the pieces we will present him with. I'm onboard with Mitchell.

Re: New Coach
I don't want a likeable coach. I want a winning coach. He can be the world's biggest b-word for all I care, as long as he can get this group to improve.

what he said. GTFO with Mitchell. I don't want to see him here and it's been reported several times that JVG won't leave ESPN for a team like the Wolves.

Re: New Coach
What is this ish? It is damn near 2010 right now. We need to look towards science and technology. We should be considering one of two options.
1. Take DNA samples from all of the coaches we are interested in and birth a new hybrid coach being. This will take a little time but is cheaper.
2. Download the memory and personality engrams of all of these coaches and upload a hybrid version into an android created to be the perfect coach. The android's physical appearance will be a statistical composite of all the physical attributes the greatest basketball coaches have ever possessed.
Be cause we created this coach he will be under a lifetime contract and he will work for peanuts (literally)!
Kevitchel Lam McThundy is the future of this franchise and the NBA.
PERIOD

Re: New Coach
I think someone else just made a Virtuosity reference.
We shall simply call him Coach 6.7. Now if we could just get Duhon 6.7 on this team we'd be unstoppable.
