What other teams do you think Rubio would accept?? I don't think there are many.. maybe none except NY at the moment.. and the agent is probably keeps saying it right now.

People do not understand Curry's reason for wanting to be a ballerina. He wanted to be able to contort his body to be able to fit in the fridge.

One thing I've noticed about fans on message boards. They're never shy about rolling the dice with another man's career.

David Kahn has one of the most select jobs in the world. He is the GM of an NBA team. These jobs don't grow on trees and they are very hard to come by. He now has his chance to establish himself as a capable NBA GM and the rest of the league (read - possible future employers) are watching.

His entire job is to improve the team and make it a serious playoff candidate/contender. That is his focus and goal.

Having a highly valued commodity overseas for two years doesn't do anything to help the team. In fact it'll be a distraction and a sore that will be picked at by Kahn's critics as the winter deepens and the losses mount while you top lottery pick refuses to join the team.

What if Rubio suffers a knee injury over in Spain. You will just have wasted a a top 5 draft pick.

Then there is the fact that public relations wise there is no way Kahn survives the 2 year fallout from his top 5 pick giving him and the org the bird. He will absolutely get hammered by the local and national media. Oh, the fans say they'll support him now, but fans turn on coaches and executives faster than lightning.

All that said its really a matter of how Kahn plays his cards. Of course this assumes that he's completely thought this out.

Geez, I didn't know those were career ending. What if Gallinari suffers a back injury? You will have just wasted a first round pick then? Hmm...

I've seen plenty of Chandler. He doesn't impress me. I'm not sure Gomes is better but the gap between the two isn't much. NY really has nothing to offer us, we can get a better deal elsewhere (if it comes to that)

Hey guys knick fan here: Hope you guys can keep Rubio and have him play for Minnesota. I hate it when certain rookies force their way to other teams. I don't think NY can put together a good enough package anyway so I think in the end this is all just talk. Good luck.

Thank you sir and I agree that this is probably all talk. I don't see why he'd try to force his way onto a certain team as he never said he wouldn't play for Minnesota. I think he's happy just to be in the NBA why would he act like a punk and want to go somewhere else?

The Spurs waited two years for David Robinson, and that was a 1st overall pick, and he had the threat of staying in the military permanently. David Kahn's job isn't just to " improve the team and make it a serious playoff candidate/contender". His job is to bring championship(s) to Minnesota. How is letting a potential elite level talent get away for 40 cents on the dollar going to get Minnesota any closer to this goal? We'll take our chances with option e!! If he really wants to play in the NBA, he'll eventually come around to the idea of playing on the Wolves when his buyout is less of an issue.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
