If Rubio thinks that then he's an f'in idiot. It absolutely is a minor league, there's no question about it.

That's just ridiculous. A guy that has the potential to maybe be one of the best players in the world is going to play in a minor league his entire life because he doesn't want to play in Minnesota? That's calling it like it is? Please. Your insistence that he doesn't want play here is itself ridiculous. Sure it's possible that that's the case. But there isn't anywhere close to enough evidence to act like that's a fact.

If he really goes back to Europe(which I don't think), in the long run he will come in the Nba.. this is his dream.. But honestly you just can't wait 2 years for a fifth pick.. especially if you got a nice offer on the table. U just can not do that.. When a team is in rebuilding project they have to get the pieces together as soon as possible, so they can play together and build a real team.. What if Rubio stays in Europe, Flynn blossoms into a star.. and then Rubio wants to come back?? What would you do with two players that can't play together? Well.. I have said enogh. I just think having great players that play in the same position is the worst thing to do

How about the fact that all the media outlets are reporting it. The Spanish media is also reporting it. How about the fact that Rubio refused to come to the press conference. How about the fact that his dad said he will stay in Europe (not to mention K Loves twitter :D

All the facts lead you to one conclusion, he does not want any part of Minnesota. Did he come out and specificly say to the public that he does not want to play for you guys? No. But read between the damn lines. Athletes act passive-aggressive all the time because they do not want to ruin their image. It's part of the media game.

LOL MagnusPinus, "we can't wait for two years if we have a nice offer on the table?" I've listened to the offers from NY and they are ALL garbage. We're NOT giving away Rubio.

Yeah, this 18 year old kid speaking a foreign language is savvy enough to play that game. What a joke.

btw, everything you said in that first paragraph is not true. Close to the truth, yes. But everything you spun and changed to fit into your opinion.

No, not at all. Is it arrogant to call the D-League a minor league. No, it's a fact. I'm aware that there are some great basketball players playing in Europe. But to think that it's anywhere close to the NBA is insane. I'm not trying to insult European basketball here, but if somebody wants to be an elite basketball player they are coming to the NBA.

Your right, Rubio is not smart enough to do that but don't you think his agent Dan Fegan is?

And I never spun anything. I am saying that I believe that Rubio does not want to play in Minnesota because of XYZ. Sure it is possible that I'm wrong and that there are alternative explanations but I do not think they are right.

Maybe you are right. Doesn't matter. You can't have him for nothing. He's ours unless and until a decent offer comes along.

Ok, the Spanish media posted a story last night in which Rubio's dad sounded confused and said that given "the situation", Rubio may play a couple more years in Spain. This story spread like wildfire, and even Kevin Love's twitter was referring to that article.

What people fail to realize is that "the situation" had more to do with being picked 5th overall rather than 2nd or 3rd. Nobody expected him to fall that far, especially Ricky. Him falling that far complicated his buyout. That is "the situation".

There were actually reports prior to the draft that Rubio's camp was warming to the idea of him coming to Minnesota. And he would be pleasantly surprised once he came here, just like every single person who has ever come here with their BS preconceived notions of it being some hell on earth.

He's 18. We're going to be waiting 4-5 years whether he's here or not. Him developing in Spain rather than in Minnesota is not the worst thing.

I wouldn't assume that one of them would have to be traded. They haven't stepped on the floor together and we're already counting them out? And even if that does become the case, then one will be traded then. Having two star PGs sounds like a good problem to have to me.

All the media outlets are NOT reporting that Rubio won't play here. He did NOT refuse to come to the press conference. And his father did NOT say that he is absolutely going back to Spain. Do I see how you can think that maybe Rubio doesn't want to play here? Yes. But I don't see how you can have any amount of certainty about it. He hasn't given a strong enough vibe, and I don't see the reason why he wouldn't want to play here.

Umm... last time I checked it's the NBA that drafts out of the euroleague (save Childress), not the other way around. By this means, it is the very definition of a minor league.

The Spurs waited 2 years for Robinson who was the number 1 pick in the draft and sucked badly those 2 years ,so why couldn't the Wolves wait 2 years if need be for the number 5 pick?
