Toronto's also a bigger market, and I really thought Colangelo would make a move for Rubio. But it doesn't look like it unfortunatly. I think we'd have some nice pieces to offer though.

method. It is a bad deal. McCants had similar numbers 2 years ago. Chandler is nothing special. Robinson is pointless with Flynn. We do not have a bad contract to get rid of. Fact is NY simply lacks the talent to get Rubio even if he was going to go (the point of this thread)
-We do not want to move Rubio, but if we did it would be for value which NY does not have.

We're gonna duke you Rubio for trash because Kahn used to work for Walsh and you're speculating that he got him the job? Go ahead and completely ignore the fact that we offered the job to 2 other people before going with Kahn, good job Donnie boy!
Chandler 15 and 5 and was considered for most improved
And Nate was considered the 3rd best 6th man behind the Jet and JR Smith.
For
Rubio
And a bad contract(expiring)
That is not thrash.
Thats more then fair considering he is NOT gonna play in Minny.
I actually like Chandler but he is not a better 3 point shooter then Gomes and is not that big of a upgrade
A Nate/Flynn backcourt is worst then Rubio/Flynn
Beside Chandler I don't see much more your team has for a Rubio deal.

Lee is our third option if that, If Lee had the same shot attempts he would average more points then Al.
So I ask again how much better is Al then Lee?
NOT MUCH.
Wow, with that kind of analysis I assume you worked for Bear Stearns? Too early for that joke?
Yes please lets do a trade for the third scoring option for a team that was .390 last year.

What?
Lee is willing to take a pay cut to stay with the Knicks the only reason we wont sign him is because we are going for 2 max free agents.

Well boys, I think we're out of a job in terms of making this guy look foolish. He's proven to be a master at doing it himself.

How much better is he then Lee really?
Then = Al Jefferson then went on to dunk on David Lee.
Than = Al Jefferson is better than David Lee.

Have fun trying to match Lebron's Cleveland offer and better supporting cast or Miami's warm weather and better supporting cast or the Nets better supporting cast.
I'm forgetting anybody?

NY may be a bigger market and may have a lot more $, and certainly they may well have a lot more opportunities to win in the future because of it. All that might be gravy to you, but what makes me love the Timberwolves, and Minnesota Sports teams in general, is knowing we don't have fans like you.

Re: If Rubio goes to a bigger market, it is not NY (my thought)
Lets just assume that David Lee was still under contract, lets also assume that David Lee and Nate Robinson are extremely desirable players that could net a high level prospect like Rubio.... Is there possibly a worst fit for Lee and Nate than the Wolves? Why would the Wolves need a rebounding 4(and that's all he is) and an undersized scoring guard off the bench? Why would they give away a potential franchise PG?
Either way, you guys should be happy, method said Rubio is leaving, and he's wrong more than like, anybody, so that's a good sign.

Re: If Rubio goes to a bigger market, it is not NY (my thought)
There were rumblings before the draft that New Jersey was in the hunt for Rubio:
http://www.draftexpress.com/blog/Jonath ... Draft-3287
This coincides with what Ian Thomson from CNNSI wrote on draft night on his blog that the Nets were pushing Devin Harris and the number #11 pick for the #5 pick.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/b ... log/3.html
New Jersey seems like a much much better trade partner that the Knicks and it has everything that will suit Rubio's side too (large market, NY area, plenty of PT and a possibility of LeBron's pairing).
It's pretty evident at this point that price for Rubio's rights will be high, as apparently the Nets were offering Devin Harris AND the number #11 pick, but got turned down. Stiil it's a good gauge point for Ricky's value around the league: an All-Star caliber player plus some other assets.
-A complicated three-way trade involving New Jersey, Minnesota and Memphis, which would send Devin Harris to Minnesota, the #5 and #6 picks to Memphis and Ricky Rubio and Craig Smith to New Jersey.

The Trail Blazers and Nets are discussing a trade involving Portland point guard Sergio Rodriguez, a league source told SI.com. In addition to their planned acquisition of Rodriguez, the Nets were discussing a bold final-hour move that would package All-Star point guard Devin Harris and the No. 11 pick to Minnesota for the No. 5 pick. These talks were described by a league source as "shaky'' but ongoing. -- Ian Thomsen

Re: If Rubio goes to a bigger market, it is not NY (my thought)
I would have strongly considered a Cardinal/Rubio for Harris #11 swap. Such a deal would also mean moving Flynn though. It's hard to think rationally after just drafting a player. I would have to seriously think about that one. A lot of it may rest on who we could get for Flynn.
At first glance, considering we could have got Curry at #6, I think I would had to pull the trigger on that one.
I would have rolled with a Harris/Curry/Williams/Love/Jefferson foundation.

I would take Harris for anyone on roster not named Al but I really don't think the nets offered that.

You have to consider Rubio's marketing value though.
If the Nets are serious about landing LeBron they need some big names in Jersey and Rubio fits that bill.
Not to mention all the money that will come in from Rubio-Yi-LeBron tandem. That's just insane from a buisness standpoint. You've got Asia, Europe and USA in a one global market.

Also you guys have talent? Like who? a 5'9 player who is at best a 6th man and plays no defense, and a 6'10 pf who has probably reached his peak. Then an average SF in Chandler, and Ganillari who is a question mark. You wanna make a bet on you winning 20 more games then us? that would put at 38 minimum, which would put you in the hunt for the playoffs, good luck with that, idiot.![]()
You have to resort to insults.
I thought calling you an idiot might of been a compliment. Couldn't think of anything to argue since I completely owned you in you trying to trash our team just because we drafted a stud instead of a guy who's played bball for 5 years?
