It seems like the thing we lack and with our expirings and future picks we should be able to make an offer.

Hawks fans seemed to think he'd be fairly available the last time I looked at their board. I'm actually going to look into that further.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I would like to come out of the 2010 draft with Evan Turner and Jerome Jordan.

He fits the age, the skillset and the clear positional need.

Just to let everyone know ahead of time, once Royce White starts tearing up the Big Ten, I'll be clamoring real hard for him.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

If he's available, Aldrich is a lock. Great passer, great defender, Minnesota kid. He's gonna be a permanent fixture here. Maybe not the franchise savior, but an excellent complementary piece. He's the real deal. Great attitude too.

If a Flynn/Rubio backcourt does end up happening, I think a 3 who doesn't need the ball as much as Turner might be a better fit. Someone who can run/finish, defend, and make open threes.

There has been a lot of concern over multiple players needing the ball in their hands. I think you have to be careful to not arbitrarily rule out the better player just because he has been successful in college with the ball in his hands. That doesn't necessarily make a player non-effective without the ball. I would much rather have a sg/sf that has ball handling skills than one that doesn't. If the draft were held today I would take Turner over Aminu guaranteed.

Better ball handler
better shooter
better defender
Better BBIQ

I liked both of these guys in this draft before they pulled their names out. I'd like them again next year assuming they continue to develop.

If you had the choice, would you rather sign and trade for Marvin at $9M/year or trade for Josh Smith at his current rate ~ $12M/year?

Marvin. Better shooter, younger and does not carry the emotional drama that Smith has had with his coach. We do not need a #1 option. We need a #3 option. Williams would be great.

But if they were unwilling to do that I could handle Smith.

I was just thinking Smith could be the Dr. J part of the equation. Rubio would make him an all star.

If his attitude and jumper did not scare me. Smith is a great kid. Maybe Atl would move him considering the contract?

Don't sleep on Paul George (SF - Fresno St.)

For some reason he's not on the radar at DX. Draftnet has him #4 in their mock.

As a freshman last year, 16 points per game and 45% from 3 (taking over 4 a game).

He could be just the player we need.

I'll book my ideal draft right now:

Bradley (Wolves)/George (Bobs)/Alabi (Utah)

Maybe we need to start a 2010 Prospect thread...

but one guy I will want to watch this year is Chris Wright from Dayton. I was at a bar watching the Dayton-WVA tourney game, and this guy was huge, athletic, and an all-around beast. It was the first time I had seen him play. I thought he might declare for the draft after that game. And then he blew peanuts against Kansas, but if he improves his shot a little more, he could sneak into the late lotto.

I think he is really raw, but from what I have seen and read, he may be as athletic a player there is in this draft. Again, nothing concrete, but someone I think is worth watching this year.

As if you needed more reasons to follow Dayton basketball next year... :D

------------------------------------

Next year is time to pick the best available C (real C)...in best case scenario with picks 6-8 (MIN) and 13-15(CHA) Minnesota again has a chance to move up maybe in top 5 and also if Rubio really would not not want to come here you can draft his rights next year for a top 3 pick. With picking the best C and sg/sf the fist team would be near completion.

FLYNN/
TOP 5 pick SG or RUBIO/ELLINGTON
BREWER/
JEFERSON/LOVE
TOP 5pick CENTER/LOVE

The future is bright!

Just one imformation. I watched Jan Vesely like 10 or more times this season and he is not a cetar, not even close. He plays SF and PF, mostley on perimetar. Nice talent for sure, but he is not centar

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
