Personally i would take the risk, it's Vick vs. a career backup and a jacked up QB, most people want Vick on the team from the poll on startribune website, he did a pretty bad no question about it, but the man is sorry and he paid his debt to society, he at least deserves another shot IMO

Dan's with the Wolves wrote:This just means that the Vikes will be able to have a non media circus training camp. Then Favre will change his mind again after succesfully avoiding training camp and shorting the regular season from 16 to 12 or less games and take advantage of viking QB problems at about weeks 4-8 and become the Childress's last chance to save his job.

i don't think he can just comeback after training camp, he would lose a lot of respect and it's not fair to the team

as much as i would want him on the team even after training camp, i doubt the coaching staff will let that fly even if this is Childress's last hope and also could possibly lead to locker room issues as well

Vick would be a distraction. In all honesty though, I would rather be a Packers fan than watch Vick play with the Vikings.

This former Vick dog is sad, will someone give her a tissue

You do realize that the Wildcat offense is a gimmick offense not to be run every play, right? It would be like trying to throw an alley-oop every time down the court. Vick flat out can't run a west coast offense. Vick would be perfect in Oakland, but horrible pretty much everywhere else.

I'm well aware

but he can learn tho, he has the scrambling skills, has good accuracy, easily make the short pass, and can deliver the ball quickly. He has some of the skills to run the offense but he definitely needs to learn. Didn't the falcons used to run it in like 06 anyways? plus oakland doesn't want him anyways

He doesn't have good accuracy, he's never completed more than 56% of his passes. I also worry about whether he'll have the same type of elusiveness, he's 29 years old and he's sat out the last 2 years.

Some of the survivors of Vick's dogfighting ring were on the show "Dogtown" where a humane society tries to rehabilitate dogs for adoption. The physical and emotional damage that was inflicted on the animals (that survived) was very severe, and the animal abuse he committed was severe enough to lock Vick up in prison for 18 months.

Yes, he's done his time, but there is something emotionally wrong with a man that can kill dogs in such varying, barabaric ways. I have no interest, and signing him would just bring a media circus again, and hurt marketing. Who can root for this guy to succeed?

Just to be fair tho, he never had any good receivers, just had to rely on Crumpler you know what i mean? I know that's an ugly % but he doesn't necessarily need to throw 100% of the time, we just need a QB that doesn't choke in the pocket and can easily complete a 20 yd pass, despite not playing to 2 yrs i think he can play at a solid level, better than T-Jack or POSSIBLY career backup Sage

I'm not sure he would be upgrade. He's not a better passer than T-Jack or Sage, and if he can't run like he used to, he's not worth it. He's not worth the negative publicity.

Michael Vick isn't going to "LEARN" anything. He's 29, has horrible accuracy, and the bulk of his game is built on scrambling, dumping to the tight end, or launching it as far as he can and hoping the receiver is within 20 yards of where it'll land.

I didn't say Oakland wanted him, I just said their mindset/scheme is the perfect place for him. And Oakland is know for taking bad character guys, if even they don't want Vick, then no. I don't like the Vikings, but I'd rather not see the guy in this state.

Although the January 3rd game against the Giants would be more enjoyable. So yeah, sign Vick.
