Anyway, it seems the consensus of this topic is to make Carney a 1-year deal and keep things on the cheap ... no strings attached thereafter. One-and-done. Sounds like a wrap.

I'm good with that. We told him last year when we didn't extend him that he'd have to earn a contract. Maybe he did .. just not the $3 mil one he would have been extended for.

I think with the financial struggles of the NBA, it may be harder for non-star players to not only get paid, but even stay in the NBA, as teams may be mroe likely to run with rosters of 13 rather than 15 to avoid paying double for lux on those players.
