Next year is supposed to be a deep draft. We did get a nice piece with the 28th this year.

I guess I am being counter-my philosophy that we will gain more via trade deadline rather than FA. If that is the case then stockpile picks right?

While I like CJ Watson, there are better fits for him. Supposedly GSW has made several offers for Watson and refused them, including one from ORL for Anthony Johnson, ORL 1st and cash.

I'd like to see what O Pec can do too, but I wouldn't turn down the Magic offer for OPec.

One thing to remember is that 2010 draft picks will take up cap room. In our situation (already having multiple 1st round picks), I think cap room is worth more than late round picks. 2011 picks would be better for us, although they might be harder to acquire.

Worst case scenario, we get too many first rounders, we can
1) sell them for 3 million
2) trade them for future 1sts (it's supposedly a fairly deep draft, so we would find takers)
3) trade down from the 1st round to the 2nd round (non-guaranteed deal)

This is my thinking as well. A first has value, particularly in next year's deeper draft, even if it is just to grease a squeaky trade for another player.

No. I refuse. Allow me the liberty of thinking our rookie is good. I see him as freddy-like.

With the lack of wings on this team, he's going to have every chance to show his stuff, but I wouldn't go anointing him useful, let alone nice, until he actually does something.

You are taking this waaaaay to serious.

Just pointing out that the 28th pick was actually able to produce something of possible value. Not just thrown away.

28th pick should produce value, hes supposedly the 28th best young player in the world...

I think a potential package of Love/Rubio/Flynn plus say Cha's #1 could net us a nice (young) swing man

There have been some good guards picked 28th. Parker. Barbosa. Udrih. Dickau. If Ellington ends up in the top half of #28 picks this decade, Wolves fans will be more happy.

I would have preferred Jodie Meeks at 28.

I'd say worst case scenario, we renounce the rights but even in that case we're not any worse than we were before.

How many 1sts do we have next year anyway?

Ours
Utahs
Charlottes

So we could be another big prty at draft time again, thats always fun I guess... ewhy not add another one in for good luck
