Jefferson a Top 5 Center?

Dwight Howard
Tim Duncan
Pau Gasol
Amar'e Stoudemire
Al Jefferson

5. Al Jefferson, Minnesota - After tearing his right ACL late last season, a speedy recovery has him on track to start the season at 100 percent. Considering Kurt Rambis has been given the mandate to run at all costs, a slimmed down Big Al should have plenty of opportunities to rack up points and rebounds.

Would rather have him be a top 5 PF.

Al's a 5 for him to be the most effective. This is why the Wolves have had the right idea in playing him nearly 25X as many minutes at the 5 rather than 4.

To best evaluate position ask what role a player plays best on the floor-

On Defense between 4 and 5-
Is best defending the rim or roaming the weakside and perimeter? Al's a poor defender at either position although he's a more than capable shot-blocker and rebounder for a 5. His standing reach which is more important than height is 9.2 which is adequate for an NBA center.

On Offense- Is more effective on the low-block or high-block/top of key?
This is a hard one to dispute- playing Al with a big like Hasheem Thabeet only clogs the lane with poor passing big men. This makes Al and the offense as a whole less effective.
