Seen some nasty hating on Jerry Zgoda...especially with regard to his reporting of the Knick rumor.
I thought it was pretty clear he was simply reporting what he heard from a source...not creating pure speculation like Charlie Walters. Zgoda is pretty tuned-in to the new regime, often the first to cite facts from the Kahn-man himself.
We should be thankful that the Star Tribune actually pays someone to follow this team....especially, in these harsh economic times - considering the bi-monthly tragedies coming out of Target Center....

Re: Why hate on Jay-Z?
Lol, i thought i was clever in calling him that.
Honestly, i dont buy the "we should be thankful" stuff. There are plenty of blogs and writers and even people on this site that write articles and discuss the Wolves with no reimbursement other than the satisfaction of getting a point across. Hell, some people pay for a website to talk about Wolves and get a place to discuss the team. I dont feel bad for a man who gets paid to do what we do on a daily basis.
2nd, I will again say its not really what he reported so much as not doing any follow up on it beforehand. Pretty much everyone here called shenanigans on the Knicks "rumor". Alan Hahn, a Knicks writer/reporter came out and squashed it hours later, it doesnt take much to follow up a story and check if its valid.
This in combination with the questionable Rubio stuff today and he's losing cred to me. Not that he cares, but he just becomes one more Wolves writer that post opinion and pass it as fact or rumors really being talked about.

Because as of late Jay-Z probably knows more about what's going on with the wolves than Jerry-Z.
When luck shuts the door skill comes in through the window.

Gonna go out on a limb and say that it's the fact that he's an awful reporter.

Because Jerry Z is just a hustla baby! He's big pimpin' the Wolves hard knock life stemming from their 99 problems, but don't worry, it's just a little dirt off his shoulder.

Huh? Kahn hooked him up with the letter to the fans in the beginning, but since then it seems like the only time he mentions Kahn is to say that Kahn didn't return Zgoda's text message. It doesn't seem like any of the local media is all that tuned into the new regime.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''
