I don't see the Lakers doing that.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I don't much like it for the Wolves either. For the sake of argument, Bynum has more value than Rubio (this is certainly arguable), but the downgrade from Jefferson to Mayo is not worth that, and this coming from perhaps the biggest Mayo fan on this board.

if we get Sessions i'd trade Rubio for Mayo in a heartbeat. I'm not sure the Griz make that deal though. Really doesn't make any sense for them bolstering their already crowded frontcourt with a guy not really known for playing defense all the while without getting rid of Rainbow Randolph. On top of that to lose a dynamic backcourt player to only replace him with Sasha pretty much guarantees they lose 70 games but average 180 points a game.

Bynum is overpaid in today's market, and as J2J suggested, I wouldn't give Rubio for him.

I just wrote this on the trade board:

shrink wrote: I think LAL overpaid for Bynum as well, and even LAL fans need to toss that into their valuation of him. Here's the contracts from 2008 and 2009 for the major players (>MLE).

$14.6 Arenas (max?)
$13.8 Dwight Howard (max)
$13.5 Chris Paul (max)
$13.5 Deron Williams (max)

$12.5 Bynum

$11.3 Iguodala
$11.0 Monta Ellis
$11.0 Al Jefferson
$10.0 Bogut
$10.0 Josh Smith
$9.9 Granger
$9.5 Okafor
$9.4 Deng (ick)
$9.0 Biedrins
$8.8 Kevin Martin
$7.8 Devin Harris
$7.7 Milsap
$7.7 Jameer Nelson

There are lots of good players making less.

If bynum stays healthy all year I could see a bynum for rubio/change swap happening next summer.
Bynum was absolutely dominant before he got hurt last year, he was not the same guy when he came back.
Until then bynum is near impossible to move without involving a team significantly under the cap because of his base year compensation status.

Involving Al and Mayo is too much here.

Lando Dee Williams, I hate your trade.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

it's obvious we're in the middle of the offseason. shrink already mixes up posters instead of players :D

anyway I wouldn't do this deal. sure Mayo and Bynum would be nice to have but not at the cost of Al and Ricky.

LOL! I haven't been working hard enough this off-season, but I hope to get to full-speed by the time we have our first pre-season game. I'm starting these plyometrics where I jump up on a box, look at a picture of Al Jefferson, and shout "RICHARD!" for as many reps as I can in 15 seconds. Hopefully I'll be 100% by Game 1.

I guess I really undervalue Jefferson. Is his value comparable to another player in the league?
Rev, I'll put a sober reading warning on top of the page when I make another trade thread.

i see Al as a top 3 low post scorer in the league regardless of how much athletic ability he has when he comes back. He's a brute at 270 and has really good footwork on the offensive end only somehow... and could probably get away without much explosion in his legs or much athleticism since he really doesn't play defense. Value: don't know till he comes back and plays a few games.

He has lost a lot of weight this summer too. In order to play uptempo. I would argue that Love is the stronger player between Al and love and might be better set to guard big monster centers, then Al can be free to block weakside.

The methodology is a shambles, so put as little weight into this as you want, but the Trade Board polled fans of all teams to make a Top 25 Most Valuable Players. The results landed Al in 12th

1. Lebron James
2. Dwight Howard
3. Chris Paul
4. Dwyane Wade
5. Kobe Bryant
6. Kevin Durant
7. Brandon Roy
8. Deron Williams
9. Derrick Rose
10. Carmelo Anthony
11. Tim Duncan
12. Al Jefferson
13. Dirk Nowitzki
14. Danny Granger
15. Chris Bosh
16. Pau Gasol
17. Kevin Garnett
18. Blake Griffin
19. Tony Parker
20. Devin Harris
21. Kevin Martin
22. Amare Stoudemire
23. Brook Lopez
24. O.J. Mayo
