That reads like a compacted version of the best of the ideas that have been floating around Wolves boards.

I'm not sure Starvin Marvin is what we need as SF. If our own Corey Brewer could develop into an something like Shane Battier or a Bruce Bowen, an athletic, elite defensive SF that could shoot three's he would really be what we need. Now if only he could shoot...be one with the ball Corey, be one with the ball :meditate:

Nice blurb at the end about Wright and Noah. :D

Thats very similar to Marvin's game, though. And Marvin has been shooting the lights out from beyond the arc this year. The Wolves simply need to add some proven talent and it would appear Marvin is about to break out in the right situation.

I think a lot of us (myself especially) have an idea in our heads that Atlanta will simply let him walk away for practically nothing. Fact is, getting Marvin is going to be extremely difficult, but I think we can do it. We have one of the best set of monetary assets and draft picks in the NBA right now and with some work I have no doubt we can add significant talent at the 1/3 positions.

We could get Marvin and Have Corey get 25 min as a 3/2 off the bench. I am cool with that.

I'm glad it's Kahn running the franchise and not this guy.

seems to be the same vision though, just different players. Upgrade the PG spot, athletic big man, and I'm sure Kahn has his eye on the SF spot too, just hasn't come together yet.

I'm probably going to regret poking a sacred cow, but I have to say that I'm not as gung ho on CanisHoopus as most. Its a good site with lots of incisive information, but they get a lot of stuff wrong too, and I think the Canis Gameplan shows more wrong than right.

While I was a longtime advocate of "Miller + Cardinal to Cleveland for Wally" to have more flexibility in 2009, when that didn't happen, I didn't like SnP's plan.

PG: Rubio was obvious if we could get him, though I was no fan of Sessions at the mid-point of last season. No mention of Flynn, but that may be understandable at that time of the season

The SF position wasn't addressed at all:

SnP wrote: Marvin Williams (FA/T)
Trevor Ariza (FA)
Andrei Kirilenko (T)
Caron Butler/Gerald Wallace (T)
Tayshaun Prince (T)
Earl Clark (D)
Chase Budinger (D)
Kyle Singler (D)

.. and in later threads, he's clung to the idea of adding Andrei Kirilenko, despite the health risks, position risks (can he still even play SF effectively?), and worst of all, $17.8 mil in 2010-11 salary. He even has him harder to acquire than Caron Butler, Tayshaun Prince, Gerald Wallace and Rubio!

As for the "Hoopus Prediction"

SnP wrote: Kevin McHale will remain at the head of the bench and Ron/Fred/Jim will man the front office with input from the head coach.

Look, I like Canis Hoopus as much as the next guy (well, if the next guy isn't rev), and I'm thrilled with their stat analysis, which I couldn't come close to approaching. But they have some flaws as well, particularly on the financial side of the ball. I find them to be a terrific resource in their sweet spot, but just one source

I'd love Ak47 on the team, except that nasty contract, nobodys touching that thing.

You can't really predict a trade like Miller and Foye for Ricky Rubio, but it seems pretty different to me. He is suggesting Foye and Jefferson as building blocks, that seems like the opposite of where Kahn is going since Foye is gone and the offense isn't going to run through Jefferson allegedly. I also think Kahn is looking for a different type of small forward than the ones suggested, I'm wrong about this if he targets Aminu, but I think he wants more of a play maker at the wing, as opposed to a lengthy weak side shot blocker.

I did think this was a solid plan back when I read it, but that just goes to show you how good of a job Kahn has done with the roster.

guys' NBA stock rises and falls dramatically; remember this was mid January when he wrote this and Foye was riding the best streak of his career, at the time most everyone was riding high on Foye. We were winning and he was playing fantastic.

I'm sure if he wrote the thing later, there'd be different names in different places, but in general he seemed to be saying the most sensible plan would be to get a PG in the draft because of the depth, get a SF via trade, and get an athletic big man to backup; made sense at the time.
