3. Portland (57)
4. Denver (52)
5. New Orleans (50)
6. Dallas (48)
7. Utah (48)
8. Phoenix (42)
9. LA Clippers (40)
10. OKC (34)
11. Golden State (34)
12. Minnesota (32)
13. Houston (30)
14. Memphis (26)
15. Sacramento (17)

Nicely done. I think that's pretty reasonable - maybe a bit optimistic for us, but we'll see how our players develop.

Poor Clippers.

Utah is interesting. I doubt they could be higher, but they don't have far to slip before they are in the lottery -- though its hard to see any two teams from the 8-15 range passing them. I think that UTA pick's value is very tough to guage right now.

looks good. I put houston at 37-40, they still have some pretty good veterans left over.
memphis is one of those teams that could be all over the place depending on chemistry with AI and z-bo.

On paper, our team looks better than the Rockets IMO. Ariza isn't as good as Artest. No yao. No T-Mac. battier a year older. Who is going to score on that team? And Brooks won't be nearly as good against the rest of the league as he was against Blake and Fisher.

Oden goes down with a foot injury and Miller doesn't fit with their offense. Middle of the pack playoff seeding. Houston will suprise, they have a lot of good defenders even without Yao to block/alter shots. if they score 90 they will have a decent chance to win.

I don't really think we have chance to win 30+ games. heck last year when we had some veterans on board we thought we might win 35 games and we still didn't get close to it.

and yes I know Wittman was our coach and Al got hurt...

#3 - 6 are really close and hard to predict, Houston will not be worse than we are...they have Scola, Brooks, Ariza and Battier and I think T-Mac and Yao will return before the season ends which will give them some extra wins. They will be on our level if neither T-Mac nor Yao return.

I agree with this. We'll be bottom two in the west with Sacramento.

No Wittman, a year of Al

Love will be a year better

Brewer and Pavs will give us some perimeter defense

Flynn and Session should be better than Telfair and Foye

If you take the stretch from when McHale took over to Big Al went down, 2 months, and stretched it out over 82 games we were a 34 win team.

yes I know we had that streak going for us but with all the roster shaking so far I doubt this team will be winning consecutive games until the end of december/mid january.

from what I recall our management repeatedly said our youngsters will get tons of playing time which will probably result into a lot of close losses. I don't really mind that as long as they are competitive. I'm just saying that I can't see this team being close to 30 wins. if we get close to 24 wins I'd consider this season a success as long as our pups get enough burn to show what they're capable of and what not.

Keep in mind that yeah we had a run of 11-4 ball under McHale, but he also lost his first 9 games too, so that kind of cancels it out.

I'd rather say our 11-4 run was only because it was January ;)

Yes, how dare he take 9 game to turn the team around. That lazy slob.

I am concerned about our shooting % and turnovers this year. I am fairly confident our Ft will increase, and I believe we will improve on defense (happens when you replace a horrible defensive backcourt) But the turnovers and % will be key this year.

Um, that's not what I was saying.

My point was that the Wolves weren't as good as that 11-4 run suggests, or as bad as that 9 game losing streak suggests. People negate a potential 34 win team when stretched over 82 games by bringing up January, but they ignore December.

Unless you're suggesting that 11-4 run is more inline with what the Wolves were last year with McHale as the coach and Al Jefferson healthy, in other words a 60 win team. That's just insane.

1.- LA Lakers (60)
2.- SA (58)
3.- Denver (55)
4.- Dallas (55)
5.- Portland (54)
6.- Utah (49)
7.- NO (44)
8.- Phx (43)
9.- LAC (38)
10- OKC (33)
11- MEM (31)
12- HOU (26)
13- MIN (26)
14- GS (22)
15- Sac (20)

I just think that GS will be terrible this year. I don't think Randolph is going to get consistent playing time, Nellie is incredibly unpredictable, Too many "me first" guys. With that terrible chemistry and so many question marks I can't see them playing very well, even if they are top 5 in ppg.
