Blount, keep away from our pups

The second-highest paid player on the Minnesota Timberwolves will not be welcome at training camp. Instead, center Mark Blount will stay home after the Wolves gave his agent permission to seek a trade.

Does this mean Kahn can't find a trade?

Forgetting trade value for a second, what teams lack size so badly that they may give minutes to Blount as a 2nd or 3rd string center?

I thought we moved Q because he was disgruntled, but now Blount is also?

The Rockets, Kings, and Suns could all use some depth at center.

The Mavericks need it BAAAAAAAAD but i've been trying to figure out a trade between us and it doesn't seem possible without a 3rd team.

We have Jawai, Humphries, and Shawne Williams on the block but idk if thats enough

Dig the sig mavsfan.

No one is going to take on Blount's contract, and his agent is losing money by getting off his duff to call any teams (assuming they can get the minimum after we buy him out). They have Glen's spuds in a salad shooter. I guess that's what you get for trading for Mark Blount not once, but twice.

His method was goofy and quirky at first, wasting picks on all those PG's but in the end he seems to have gotten it done.

The wolves might be willing to give up a roster spot in a 2-for-1 deal, but they wouldn't trade him and take back a multi-year deal like Humphries.

yeah i don't think it is possible unless there were a 3rd year involved sending humphries to a team he would fit great with like GS. I wish we wouldn't have bought out buckner now cause a Buckner(partial guarenteed), Shawne Williams for Blount would have been 100% perfect. DAMN we need a backup Center!!!

He was waaaaaaay overpaid for his abilities his role for the mavs. Great energy guy but too many fouls attatched to him. I personally liked him a lot but not matching on him was the correct move

Blount gets paid more this season than Hollins will for his entire contract.

Even setting aside projections, DAL had 17 guaranteed contracts at the time, and was $20 mil over the lux. Matching Hollins would have cost them double, and also required that they cut an additional player. They are better off financially if they trade for a center (with salary and roster spots going out), than just add one.
