Wolves cut McClinton, Gee

Post#1 » by Mcfale313 » Wed Oct 7, 2009 12:14 am

The Wolves on Tuesday released Alonzo Gee and Jack McClinton to get their roster to 16 players and had former Timberwolves guard Chris Carr at practice to audition for a sixth assistant coaching job that will devoted exclusively to developing players.
Neither Gee nor McClinton played in Sunday night’s preseason opener against the Bucks.

Devin Green, Shakur, Reiner, and Hart still in, who will make the team?

I guess Devin Green.
Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

I like Chris Carr being brought on for a coaching look. Him and Freddy can teach the guys how to shoot.

I'd say Hart's a lock. Maybe Green...

Not the veteran PG presence I was looking for, so it really doesn't matter to me.

It seems like Flynn has the motor and ability to pick up on some stuff himself, but I'd really like an old fart who doesn't want playing time or championships to come aboard and show him the ropes.

What's Mugsy Bogues been up to. He'd be a pretty solid little man who could show Flynn a thing or two about being short. Player or Coach, I don't care, this team needs a midget mentor for Flynn.

Apparently Bogues has a FO job with the Bobcats. Who knew?

maybe we could bring Big Earl Boykins back into the league. he'd be a pretty big spark off the bench and could definately help teach Flynn and Sessions a thing or two about putting up points. but honestly i was hoping for someone like Bobby Jackson

I don't care who makes the team. They won't get many minutes anyway...

Hart makes sense, somebody who can at least teach since he's not going to be playing much

It's all good, I thought the same thing when I saw this.

Well, he was drafted and he's got talent. I figured we'd at least stash him in the D-League. It's not like we're using that roster spot. I'm wondering if there is something wrong with him now. Or maybe he just looked like the real deal in college and was fools gold?

Ah well.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
