Re: Can Kahn Pull This Off?
I'd rather we didn't do this.
We could save our cap space and make a splash in free agency instead of doing this.
Players that we get long-term
1) Gortat, IMO he's overpaid. I think we have a similar player in Hollins at half the cost.
2) Pietrus, a solid player, but again he is slightly overpaid... I'd rather use our cap space on a star rather than a role-player like Pietrus
3) Gay, if we really want him, we might as well wait until free agency and go after him.
We lose
Ellington, Cha pick, Brewer, Sessions, Gomes, cap flexibility
-EDIT BEFORE SOMEONE BRINGS IT UP (that no one will come here): I'd rather trade our cap space in the offseason before taking on these players as well.

I'm sorry but that's a god awful plan. Gortat is incredibly overrated, and has a bad contract. Gay is a inefficient volume scorer who doesn't make his teammates better and doesn't play defense, pairing Gay and Jefferson together seems like a disaster in the making.

Irony amuses me.
As for the trades, I've seen worse, but I probably wouldn't do either.
I think that in order to get talent away from Orlando, we'd have to overpay. I'm also in the camp that Gortat may be overpaid, but its close. Sessions is certainly underpaid, and while I'd be willing to trade Gomes if we felt he wasn't a part of the future (like Foye and Mike Miller), I'm not a fan of adding him to the value in this deal.
Rudy Gay is someone that I wouldn't mind acquiring, but he's a risk. I think his price won't be extravagent, and I like the fact that he has room to improve. He has great physical skills, and we've seen glimpses of what he could be in the Target Center. However, while I think the price is fair, I think we may be able to get him more cheaply than this. MEM is really going to struggle if they have to match an offer. Just this week it was announced that they weren't able to come up with an extension for Gay, so he may be a free agent in 2010. Moreover, small-market MEM is all over the board on how they spend money, but Gay doesn't seem to be able to play with OJ Mayo, so I could very well see him on another team next year.

Re: Can Kahn Pull This Off?
I like this first trade,
First of all, the poster who said that Hollins=Gortat is just wrong, Hollins is utter trash, a pogo stick good for 6 fouls in 15 min of play and a few goaltended blocks. Rambis plays him under 20 min, and rightfully so, the guy doesn't rebound and gets pushed around.
Second, if Rambis plans to use Sessions just as Flynn's backup then Kahn better trade him for something of need, like a big athletic center, cause Hollins is just plain bad and lost on the court.
As for the players we get from Orladno,
Gortat is a great fit next to Love and Al. He's a 7-footer, that can protect the rim, rebound, body up big center like Bynum, Oden, Yao and Howard. He's much more athletic than Al and Love and even his offense is better than Hollins'. Gortat is still young and he's contact is fine for a C that plays defense.
Check what Dampier, Dalembert and other stiffs make.
Petriues is better than Gomes, better defender, much better athlete, better longrange shooter. Isn't he what all wolves fans want from their SF, and hope that Brewer will be, the guy is still 28 y.o. so he has some basketball left in him.
Reddick provides 3pt shooting, Johnson is a capable pg backup and a good vet.
I would even throw in utah's pick.
