Re: 2010 Draft Targets
i really hop we get a top 2 pick in this draft. I view this draft as 2 superstars with Wall/Favors. I think either of those guys can be franchise guys.
After that you got guys like Ed Davis, Aldrich, Turner, Warren who don't get me wrong are good players, I think they are nba starters, just not huge impact guys who can carry teams.
We need a legit superstar, I think wall/favors both offer that, i don't care what position they play, we need superstars, this is the nba.
I hope if we say land a pick 3-6 ...i hope kahn makes a move to land wall or favors. I think wall given his height and combo guard ability can play pg or 2 guard, he's got that wade type body/game.
Favors can play SF/PF, he's an athletic FREAK.

My understanding is that Favors is a pure 4. I don't know much about him, but Jon Watters was pretty adamant about it.

wow i dont know about him a pure 4.....
ive watched quite a bit of him, he moves like a 3, his athletic ability is insane. I could guarantee he can play 3 as well.

Re: 2010 Draft Targets
Doesn't look like a 3 at all to me. Looks less like a 3 than Josh Smith, who is clearly a 4.

every scouting report ive seen on him said he can play either 3 or 4. The way he moves on the court I don't see why not. He's an athletic FREAK. Regardless of what position he is anyways, if we get a top 2 pick I take him or Wall period. Best two players in the draft.

Strengths: An elite level athlete with skills to play either forward position … He has the athleticism and quickness to guard on the perimeter, and also the length and strength to play inside … Just a high school junior, he's already one of the top handful of high school players in the country … Tremendous shot blocker, his huge wingspan and great explosiveness and timing make him a superb shot blocker … Plays aggressively, not afraid of contact Has a great frame, adding another 15-20 good pounds will be no problem … Very fluid athlete, runs the court well … He is strongest playing inside, rebounding and defensively, skills that will be a benefit regardless of the position he ultimately ends up at … Has solid post skills, with the strength to finish after contact … Has the ability to face the basket and create or shoot … Solid range out to 12 feet, doesn't extend further than that right now as he never needs to …
Weaknesses: Still needs to work on conditioning. By the end of the adidas Super 64, he was really dragging missing most of the semi-final game against Indiana Elite … Developing his perimeter skills (ball handling, passing and outside shooting) will serve him well, as he looks like more of a natural small forward for the NBA level … All of these skills have good potential, just need polishing … Must gain better consistency, play at a high level at all times … Can be a little mechanical offensively …

Dwight Howard is an athletic freak as well, but that doesn't mean he has any business playing small forward. What's his skillset like?
Draft Express lists him as a PF/C and a future PF in the NBA.

Re: 2010 Draft Targets
im just going by what ive read at a few sites and seen on tape...
maybe he can't play the 3 i dunno, but I'd like to judge it for myself when he plays college ball this year.
If he is a 4, so be it, draft talent baby, BPA

Re: 2010 Draft Targets
I doubt he is a 3. Most likely a 4 or finesse 5. Only college 4 that will switch to the 3 is Henson.

Reminds me of Grant Hill mixed with Steve Smith with a touch of Paul Pierce thrown in for good measure...

Try to watch him this year first, and then go HAHA on the poster that actually spent some time watching Turner play.

Whats your beef, I was just replying to a post that I felt was intended to be funny.
Someone said Turner looked like Roy
Someone then (in my opinion anyway) took a shot at OP by saying Turner looked like three all-stars rolled into one.
I like Turner and I think of all the top ten talents next year he is the best fit for our future plans (best fit, not best talent).

Re: 2010 Draft Targets
Vincecarter4press was making Turner to G.Hill and Steve Smith comparisons before on draftboard, so I don't think he intended to make a joke post.

Can't really see VC4P taking a shot at me either. Especially not in that context.

Re: 2010 Draft Targets
I wasn't taking a shot at anyone.
I did spin it with a little comical reference, but all in all I was serious about the comparison.
Now I wasn't saying he is necessarily going to be on the level of those guys, especially a prime Hill, but I see serious shades of all their games in his. The style is similar and this kid is no slouch.
I would say he is definitely going to be at least on the level of Smith and Smith was a hell of a player.

Re: 2010 Draft Targets
So can we just fast forward 8 months and draft Turner, then move on to 2010? PLEASE!?!?

Re: 2010 Draft Targets
I would like a Turner + Xavier Henry + 7 foot center prospect 2010 draft quite a bit, at this early date.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I apologise, I felt VC4P was making a (very clever in my opinion) attempt at humour with his post.
I must admit to not watching heaps of Evan Turner, but what I did see he didnt look anything like Steve Smith.
