Jefferson did not attend Tuesday's preseason game due to his sore Achilles and due to flu-like symptoms. However, head coach Kurt Rambis says he believes Jefferson will be ready for the start of the regular season, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

I hope so, but isn't tendonitis something that typically lingers if not completely healed and rested? I'm kind of hoping we play it safe. Even though developing chemistry is important, I don't want any serious injuries in such an already awful season.

they better consider this one serious. I don't want him to rush it again. take your time Al. this season is a "loss" anyway.

I'm sure the Wolves doctors understand what's going on better than we do. There's no reason be worried about him rushing back.

Considering what happened to Foye (and McCants if I remember correctly), I am going to worry. It's not like we are talking about PHX's staff. I have faith in them taking the right precautions, but a part of me still knows what could happen.

What happened to those guys? They got hurt, but I don't recall any relapses or them being rushed back.

I can't recall about McCants but when Foye was hurt there were reports in November and December stating "it will take Foye 3-4 more weeks to come back" but in reality he came back, when? at the end of January?

Unfortunately with Love's injury I think there's going to be a pressure to get him back on the court sooner than if Love was completely healthy.

Jefferson (Achilles) will not play with the T-Wolves for at least the next two preseason games due to flu-like symptoms, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Interesting. So the way that article is written makes it seem as if the Achilles is not the reason, but the flu is.

I'm probably wrong about McCants. So much for my credibility...

Foye had a stress fracture in his knee, which comes from overworking that joint, ligament, tendon, or whatever. These fractures typically heal faster when not overworked. I recall, but could be wrong, that he was training too hard in the offseason and that is what lead to the problems in the first place. He also had the delay in returning because of the severity of the condition. My feeling on this is that if we had a better training staff, they might say "Hey, don't work so hard so fast", and our players wouldn't tend to get hurt while trying too hard to get back into game shape. Then again, the staff may not have the slightest effect on these instances, and I'm overthinking.

Since this season is a wash, I don't want anything to effect the Wolves long term.
Since this injury doesn't really seem like a big deal (just the flu), I'm just worrying.

Sorry Rev. Probably shouldn't say "just the flu" at the moment, huh?
