Minnesota Sends: Jefferson, Pekovic, (UTA 1st)
Minnesota Receives: Oden, Webster, Bayless
Minnesota Sends: Love, Gomes, Sessions
Minnesota Receives: Josh Smith, (Conditional Future 1st)
These trades seem to help both Portland and Atlanta win-now, while setting a foundation for Minnesota to establish an uptempo style of play which will help with both drafting and free agent signings. We could definetly look to sign Rudy Gay in the summer if our team looked like this by years end.
P.S. Big Al is not a Center, we need a Center, I know these trades may be a little far fetched but Big Al can't be our Center. We can't build with him slotted as our 5.

Re: 2 Fun Trades 4 Us
I don't think we are getting enough value in return for Jefferson here from Portland and I'd rather keep Love and Sessions than trading for Josh Smith.
I'd consider a deal for Jefferson if Rudy & Oden were involved but I don't think Portland has that much interest to acquire Jefferson.

Re: 2 Fun Trades 4 Us
adding Jefferson to Portland's roster at the expense of Oden doesn't make any sense. for Aldridge it would make much more sense but there's no point for us to trade for him and the value isn't there.
if it's about Oden and Jefferson being dealt, Portland and Minny are bad trading partners.

I think J Smith would look great with the wolves, but you traded the wrong pf imo. Love is the keeper in the offense that Kurt is trying to run.
Oden sucks

These two trades don't make the team better.

Re: 2 Fun Trades 4 Us
Oden would be a worse fit than Al. Its really a shame we couldn't put in an offense that features Jefferson better. Love would be making a killing with this team. I can see Love easily having 14/18 in the Cavs game.

The talent of both deals is unbalance against us. jefferson, has been injured during the last year, but Oden has been injured his whole career. Oden still hasn't come close to living up to the hype. Jefferson is a GREAT low post scorer [don't let the first couple of games of this season fool you, he is still recovery from ailments.] Bayless has been awful except in summer league his rookie year. Thats why he can't get off of Portland's bench and Portland got Miller. Webster is a career 41% shooter, who doesn't rebound or pass, who was injured all of last year.
To run you need rebounds. Love is a great rebounder. Smith is not. I wouldn't trade Love for Smith "straight up".

Re: 2 Fun Trades 4 Us
We get Kobe'd on both of these trades.
Jefferson's value is around where Oden's is, probably more. Webster has a long contract that he hasn't proven to be worth, yet. Bayless is another midget combo guard who's proven nothing. Then we add in a great Euro prospect who's tearing apart that continent right now, hasn't proven anything, but at least he's playing. And then a 1st on top of it? Yuck.
Currently I'd put Love and Smith's value about similar, probably slightly more towards Smoove, but a great 7th man on a great contract, and then a great back-up/borderline starter point guard on another great contract for a conditional first ends up with us getting shafted.
And then with that all said and done, Jonny Flynn is the closest thing we have left to a guy who can create his own shot. No 1st option.
