Another trade possibility

Post#1 » by Esohny » Fri Oct 23, 2009 7:25 pm

Especially if the Sixers are having issues at the deadline and we don't buy out Blount(but has to wait for December 15th regardless):

Wolves out/Sixers in:

Sessions
Gomes
Cardinal
Blount
Utah(maybe charlotte) 1st rounder

Sixers out/Wolves in:

Iggy
Kapono
Green

We pick up Iggy to be our 2-way wing star. We've still got our high 1st plus the remaining later 1st this draft. We give up all of our 2010 space, but Kapono and Green expire next year, so we can make another deal then.

Philly picks up Sessions to start at PG and Gomes can play some worthwhile minutes at SF/PF, as well as a 2nd first round pick in a loaded draft. They also clear about 13 million from their 2010 salaries. Thad Young gets to step into the SF spot and be The Guy.

I think Philly is high on the potential of Lou Williams and Holiday. I could see them moving iggy to get more time for Thad and to get rid of some of the contracts, but they would likely want draft picks, not sessions.

I understand where you're coming from, although I don't really think much of Williams at all. I could see Holiday and Sessions playing together at least for a time like we've envisioned Flynn/Rubio will be, except that Sessions and Holiday are both 6'3'' and above, so the size might be better.

I suppose I could look for a 3rd team that would want Sessions and could send something the Sixers way.

If Sessions is not able to play SG with us why would they play him there?

Philly is very high on Lou Williams.

Aren't we all asking why Sessions hasn't been playing more SG, considering his experience with the Bucks?

And that's my point, I don't understand why Philly is high on Williams; he's small, he's not a shooter, and he's not a distributor.

Sounds just like the player that was the face of their franchise for years.

Plus they don't need a true PG when they have Iggy.

Ok, he's small, he's not a shooter, he's not a distributor, and he doesn't have any of prime Iverson's selling points to make up for it. If I were Philly, I'd be trying to give Holiday as much time as possible at PG. (Although to be fair, I'm especially high on Jrue)

I did say, there's probably a better 3 teamer out there. Or we could go for Wallace and probably give up less, although the injury history there gives me a fair bit of pause.

I don't think it's a bad deal and as far as Holliday, I see him more like Tyreke Evans in that they're going to play him at PG, but he's a better fit at SG.

I think we would have to offer more, but I'd love Iggy on the team.

Holiday is a pg. That really is not in question. He played out of position as a SG last year at UCLA but the kid is Stuckey-like pg.

Would PHI even consider this? I think they trade Brand before Iggy.

Well yeah. That is like saying the Wizards would trade Jamison before Butler.. Of course they would.

I'm assuming they trade Dalembert before Iggy as well. Just putting that out there.

I like the idea. I'm a big Iggy fan, and we get much needed athleticism and long range help. But the sixers won't touch that.

Maybe I'm beating a dead horse, but I think I'm going to keep taking shots on this, because I like Iggy a lot.

Again, assuming Philly isn't doing great , and Jefferson is healthy(but perhaps not fitting what RamiKahn want to do...)

Phillly out/Minny In:

Andre Iguodala
Mareese Speights
Samuel Dalembert

Philly in/Minny out:

Al Jefferson
Brian Cardinal
Mark Blount

Sixers run a very talented group of Jefferson/Brand/Young out as their frontcourt, and trim Dalembert's giant contract off the books.

Wolves get their 2-way star at the wing and a nice young big man prospect in Speights. Dally is dumb as rocks but can play a bit at C until he expires.
