ESPN: Wolves are far worse than the NETS!!!

Post#1 » by Mcfale313 » Sat Dec 5, 2009 12:29 am

http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/insider/ ... ba_exx_xxx

its a insider article, espn warned me last time saying I can't just cut and paste to other website, so i'm just gonna summarize it to a few points for u guys

basically

1. Luck
Wolves have a better record, but just because they arent as unlucky as the Nets. If the Nets didn't get buzzer-beated by Wilkens and the wolves as well as Wade and the Heats, now the winless team could so much be the Twolves, while Nets are at least 2-16.

2. Comparing the stars
Devin Harris is a more promosing leader and player than the injury-prone Al Jefferson
Brook Lopez, a player that the wolves passed on the draft, is way healthier than Kevin Love, and has way more impact on both ends of the floor

3.bench players
Rafer Alston, Courtney Lee, CDR, Yi Jianlian are all very good bench players, wolves got no depth on their bench, which filled by a bunch of nobodies, old veterans, and experienceless rookies. They look like they just knew each other before each tipoff.

4. Team spirit
Although their offense stat sucks and ranked bottom in the league, the Nets' defense are not bad. Their defensive efficiency is ranked 14th on the league, and they lose 4 games within 3 or less points, while only lost one game by 20 or more points. What about the T wolves? they lost 5 games by 20 or ore points and 9 games by more than 12 points already in this young season.

5. NBA history
72-73 sixers held the NBA's worst single season W/L record, they lost 12.1 point on average per game. the 92-93 Mavericks was even worse on this particular stat, when they posted a 11-71 record and lost 15.2 points per game.
Before the wolves-Grizzilies game, wolves lost 13.5 points per game, which ranks 2nd in NBA history to the 92-93 mavericks. The nets, meanwhile, lost 11 points per game, which only ranked 14th in NBA history.

6. Summary
Hollinger thinks both the wolves and the nets won't keep doing this bad all season. From a statistic point of view, both team should crack the double digit mark on the win column. With Love coming back and Jefferson back in shape, as well as the increased playing time for Ramon Sessions, wolves will start to gel together. Meanwhile, all the nets need is a some little hot streak to get their confidence back, and they won't be losing like this as well.

aw thats a lot to type and re-phrase............phew....what do you guys think?

I used to worry about Al being injury prone before he got here but since he has been a wolf, besides the ACL he has been great. I wouldn't say he's durable yet but I don't think he's Mr. Glass anymore either.

And Love thing... come on. This is the start of his second season. How can they judge his health so?

Well I do agree that the Nets are a better team. They have two players that can score 25+ on any given night the wolves have one. They have at two two very good defensive players in their starting 5, the wolves have maybe 1.

i agree we are way worse, but its at least by design. we could have only 4 or 5 players returning next year. the nets team is who they are hoping will take them to the playoffs.

Why do they keep bringing this **** up? They have one win, we have two. We're both awful, give it a rest.

LOL I know what you mean. It's just like Kamla bringing up the Jennings thing with the wolves. Yea, nobody had Jennings that high on your board, give it up, stop screaming about us passing on him twice..

Point number 1 is totally lame. It's like something a ballboy on the General Thread would say. Point number two is BS. The rest of it I mostly agree with.

I don't think you can argue that we are far worse than the Nets talent-wise.
