I don't like Jaric and I don't like Real Madrid and he's going to make them worse. Great news

Wow, I thought he was still waiting for a buy-out from Memphis.

is says on the internetz that the buyout will be the difference between his old and new salary. Grizz gave him permission to look for a team back on September 28

Oh man Marko. Sam Cassell was so pissed over that trade. We basically gave up a waning all-star player for a guy who doesn't deserve major minutes in the NBA. I know the Clips were licking their chops at that deal. A pick and 1st rounder? McHale thought Marko would be a triple double king or something.

well the thinking mostly had to do with the fact that KG can handle most of the offense and Jaric was a HUGE upgrade defensively over Sam, so it should have been a better team fit. and Jaric did look like a mini-lebron before there was a Lebron in his young days before the Clippers, I even had hopes he would progress instead of lose all hope of being a productive player and just marry someone hot.

Cassell was traded because of his attitude. I'm not sure anyone thought Jaric was a better player.

If I want to dump a guy who has I value I don't throw in a first rounder unless I think I am getting something back worthwhile. I highly doubt McHale traded for Jaric simply as a means of getting rid of Sam.

McHale liked Jaric, no doubt about it, but most people thought Cassell was the better player, who was also a nutjob.

Remember, Sam Cassell led a revolt because Glen Taylor forced him to stick to his word to renegotiate his contract after the season. He froze out Wally, and said he was injured whenever a quicker PG came to town that might embarrass him. A Timberwolves team that many predicted would win a Championship didn't even nake the play-offs because of Sam Cancer-cell.

In retrospect, it would have been better to buy out Cassell, but everyone knew we were forced to trade him, so we were trading from a position of weakness. Sam was old, injured, paid, and a team cancer. Are you surprised that it took a TOP TEN PROTECTED 1st to get another team to take him?

that's a lie and you know it. Taylor gave his word to Sam, that his contract will be extended after that play-off run, but then he got greedy and tried to lowball him and that didn't sit well with Cassell. and nobody froze out Wally, he just sucked plain and simple.

If it IS a lie, then I don't know it. This is what I've read.

I've never heard your version before, except there is some debate on the freeze out.

You are right. the NBA and Europe respect each others contracts, and he can't sign with another team until he's bought out from the Grizz. Even if he has an offer from Europe, he'll have to negotiate with Memphis on the buy-out, then pass a physical, and then agree to the deal.

I don't know how Glen Taylor is now but my brother used to work with a guy who worked under Glen Taylor in one of his other businesses. That guy hated Glen, he claimed Taylor was really shaky in the trust department and did some things that really rubbed employees the wrong way. Now that guy could be making up BS but I doubt it, I have also questioned Taylors motives in other situation. I don't know if he's the most straight edged guy in the world.

also looking like the buyout for Jaric is going to be the differece in his salary with his new team. which seems oddly fair for a buyout. Sounds like Jaric just wants to get to play. I also didn't mean to imply Jaric was the better player, he absolutely is not. He just appeared to be a better team fit, mostly because he could play defense.

He did freeze out Wally. I saw it, and all his teammates saw it. Whether Wally sucked is pretty much irrelevant. I don't know why you insist on being delusional.
